I’ve owned enough Saddleback products to know what to expect, and somehow the Big Mouth Leather Toiletry Bagstill impressed me. The construction is seriously substantial, and the old-school doctor’s-bag style opening isn’t just good looking—it makes the bag incredibly practical.

When I’m traveling, I want to open my toiletry bag, immediately find what I need, and get on with my day. This design does exactly that. It stays open while I’m using it, holds far more than you’d expect, and closes back up into a compact package.

The Dark Coffee Brown is classic Saddleback and will only get better after years of hotels, road trips, and being thrown into luggage.

It’s probably excessive engineering for a toiletry bag—and that’s precisely why I love it.

The Big Mouth Leather Toiletry Bag is exactly what I wanted from Saddleback: simple, rugged, and ridiculously well built. The opening is the best part. It opens wide enough that I can actually see everything inside instead of digging around blindly for a razor or toothpaste at the bottom of the bag.

There’s plenty of room for everything I need when traveling, and the Dark Coffee Brown leather looks incredible. It has that substantial feel you just don’t get from ordinary toiletry bags.

I’ve gone through plenty of cheap dopp kits over the years. I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another one.

I originally purchased the Big Mouth Leather Toiletry Bag in Dark Coffee Brown as a gift for my husband, and it ended up being one of the best gifts I have ever given him. From the moment he opened it, you could immediately tell this was something special.

The Dark Coffee Brown leather is absolutely gorgeous in person. Rich, masculine, timeless, and incredibly luxurious without feeling flashy. It has that classic old-world craftsmanship that feels almost impossible to find anymore.

What impressed both of us most is how functional it is while still looking incredibly refined. The wide opening makes it so easy to see and access everything inside without digging around endlessly like most toiletry bags. It holds far more than expected while still fitting perfectly into luggage and travel bags.

My husband travels frequently, and this has now become one of the few things he absolutely refuses to travel without. It has been through airports, road trips, hotels, and overseas travel, and somehow it only looks better with time. The leather develops more character and richness every trip.

The craftsmanship is exceptional in every way. Thick full-grain leather, beautiful stitching, solid hardware, and that unmistakable overbuilt Saddleback quality that makes you feel like it will last forever.

I’ve had one of these for a few years now, and I liked it enough that I bought the exact same one for my dad — same bag, same style, same color. That alone probably says more than anything else.

I’ve gone through plenty of toiletry bags, and most of them don’t age well. This one does. The leather is thick and stiff at first, but it breaks in over time and just gets better. Scratches don’t bother me at all — they’re part of the look.

The frame-style opening is the best part. There’s no zipper, and it stays open on its own, which makes it easy to see everything inside without digging around. It holds more than you’d expect and never collapses.
It’s heavier than a typical toiletry bag, and it’s not cheap. But Saddleback backs it with a 100-year warranty, and honestly, it feels like it could last that long.

If you want something lightweight or disposable, this isn’t it. If you want something solid that you’ll never have to replace, this is hard to beat.

This bag fits all items that a toiletry bag can carry on a trip; there is no lack of room. However, the best feature is the gladstone opening which keeps the bag open and all the contents in view. Purchased it in Dark Coffee which is a nice contrast to the pigskin lining. The interior side pockets are very helpful for smaller items, keeping them from getting lost in the bottom. You will not regret this purchase!

It’s a great toiletry bag. I am able to fit all my things in it; for example, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, razors, cologne, soap dish, and brush with room to spare. Also, it looks great too. I look forward to many years of usage.

Purchased the Dave's Deal Dark Coffee Brown Big Mouth Lather Toiletry Bag to go along with my Saddleback Waterbag. Like the other Saddleback products I have purchased the design and quality is impeccable. It opens and closes beautifully and is nicely sized to accommodate all your travel sized toiletries.

I own a couple pieces of SBL: the duffel bag, the discontinued rifle case (boo! Bring it back!!!), a wallet, and now this shave kit bag.
At first the idea of no handle was off-putting, but I soon realized I can carry it everywhere by grabbing the end hinge area.
I got it shortly after it was introduced, and have taken it to my girlfriend's house almost every weekend since, my mom's down in Florida, vacation in New York, and just took it to Hawaii as carry-on next to my duffel bag.
It carries perfectly everywhere, including through airports.
Objectively, it's perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.

I bought the "tobacco' thinking it will develop more "character" as it ages (it will). Does this bag NEED a strap? Not really. Just use one of the ends to grab. Plenty of room and I love that it stays open and I don't have to keep fighting the bag to load and unload my gear. Recap: excellent quality well worth the price. Buy it.

This dopp kit is roomy and well made. In response to the earlier reviews, I've never had one with a carrying strap. I find it convenient to grab and carry with the hinge at either end.

Bought this for my husband- he’s super picky- and he loves it. Plenty of room, sturdy, and closes securely. I just wish he knew that I buy him things like this to give him hints of where to shop. :/

Saddleback has kept their high quality and superb design rolling with this latest addition to my collection. Black and chrome on the outside with the tan pigskin interior is a classic and functional combination. I have noticed extra holes on the belt closure that I will never use but it looks cool.

If you’re on this site then you should already have an idea of just how nice these items are...
