Join Saddleback's Race for the Cure

Eight years ago my niece Grace Chamberlain was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. It destroyed her immune system and pancreas, an organ vital to to regulating blood sugar. Now she’s dependent on insulin injections and 24 hour monitoring to save her life.

Read Grace's story here.

More than 30,000 people are diagnosed each year with Type 1 Diabetes, which has no cure and nothing to prevent it. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is working tirelessly to change that. JDRF is the world’s leading organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF has a wide range of partners and has the scientific resources and a solid plan to cure T1D. In 2012 alone, JDRF provided more than $110 million to T1D research.

JDRF is currently developing an artificial pancreas for Type 1 Diabetics that could save a lot of lives, including that of my niece Grace. You can see why the issue is close to my heart, and why I would like to contribute to that funding through Saddleback.

Grace’s family will be participating in the JDRF Ride for the Cure event in Death Valley, California, October 16-19, for a weekend of cycling to raise awareness for juvenile diabetes. If you’d like to sponsor Grace, or donate to JDRF, you can do so and read Grace’s story by visiting here.

You’ll be contributing to a great (and accountable) cause, and for every tax deductible donation of $25 or more, we’ll send you a cool JDRF Saddleback Leather bracelet.

Peace to you,
