Product Overview

Design
The Big Mouth Duffle is a smaller version of the Doctor's Leather Duffle Bag to be a simple overnight bag. It was engineered with no breakable parts, like magnets, zippers, snaps or buttons and all stress points are reinforced with rivets and hidden polyester straps. The main body is built with one solid piece of leather to reduce seams and one piece on each end. And we sew at only 5 stitches per inch so there is more leather between the needle holes and therefore fewer holes to start tearing. Some leather bags are sewn with thinner thread to save money and so sew with the holes closer together, but then they start tearing like perforated paper.

Materials
Our leather is only the full-grain stuff, and it's thick. The interior has two large pigskin pockets and three additional divided pigskin pockets, which is stronger than the cow skin. One of the coolest materials we use is our custom 316 Stainless Steel. It's a fun one to research up on. It can hold up to 750 lbs. If your life is depending on something, you're going to want it to depend on this metal. Our thick thread is a very strong industrial marine-grade and UV resistant polyester. It doesn't deteriorate when the sun hits it, more designers should use it.

Functionality
The mid-18th century Gladstone Bag closure goes right along with our design philosophy of building it for life. This was at the time when zippers weren't a thing yet and they needed to keep your leather duffle bag closed for travel. It doesn't need to be buckled, but you can. I use it as my camera bag and it is loved. I put an old Maasai blanket I picked up in Kenya along the bottom for padding and then my camera lenses and gear on top of that.

    Versatile alternative to Large Classic

With a large open area, and what certainly feels like about a pound lighter, I find this bag to be a very nice alternative to my Large Classic Briefcase.

Although it lacks the outside storage, I think the interior depth is just a tad less than the LCB ... plus you get the Gladstone opening. And enough pennies saved to maybe get a Large Portfolio to store inside.

But wonderful in it's own right, especially if you think maybe the Tool bag is a touch small for what you want. I love it enough to not keep it, and give it to my grandson.

    Fly'n Round

Discovered this brand in El Paso and excited to use. I purchased in October 2020 and have used many times since then. I am a female and found that this bag would be ideal if I was able to use it as a personal item/purse for flying or short trips. I took to airport and confirmed this by placing bag into various airlines bag requirement stalls. It worked no problem on Southwest, Delta, and American but it was a tight squeeze for United (Still fit though). It would absolutely not fit as a personal carry on for Spirit, Frontier, or another low cost flyer in my opinion. First impression, The bag is beautiful. Second Impression, the strap is thick, well made, and not very dainty. It's not supposed to be dainty. If I want to "purse" it, I remove the strap but it may be a little heavy. If you carry it on top of your carryon, you will be just fine. I use this as my under seat bag to hold cords, wipes, chargers, toiletries, light shawl etc. It would easily hold a days worth of clothing (Without shoes) and likely toiletries if you are a man. 3 tiny pockets are great for phone, mens wallet, and keys/earbuds. It would easily hold and iPad and I have a 13 in MacBook Air that fits very well as long as I'm not actively kicking the bag down the plane. Its thick leather but I wouldn't go as far as saying its a padded sleeve. I also wouldn't go putting both an iPad and a computer in it. It can be done but might sacrifice some flexibility in the bag as well as some space. I don't often use this as a daily purse but it could do the job. Last but not least, my favorite feature of the bag is the Gladstone closure. I like being able to open up the whole bag and rummage through it in a hurry and the big mouth allows me to see what I need immediately. If your a dude who doesn't need all the extra space, you may prefer a briefcase but for the price, this is a tough bag to beat.
