What People Think
I also wanted to be able to bring it as a carryon when I travel for work and use it as a laptop bag when I arrive. It fits my 16" macbook pro just perfectly - if it was even a tiny bit smaller it wouldn't fit. I would not plan on it as an every day carry for this but for a few trips a year it's going to be perfect. I was looking for this in the reviews and didn't see it. It would be nice if the bag was even just 1/4" wider to better fit it but it still works.
But since that's the backup purpose this is perfect! a slim flight bag (I normally put my work laptop in my carryon anyways when I fly) that doubles as a work bag once I arrive.
If a person wanted to and it was legal for them, a full size auto pistol would fit perfectly.

Design of the Leather Laptop Bag
The Fourteener Thin Briefcase is an over-engineered leather laptop bag. Yes, there is a pocket for a 14" MacBook Pro, and you can squeeze a 15" MacBook in the main compartment. There are also pockets for everything else you might need to bring with you. An iPad, iPhone, tablet or notebook, business cards, passport, boarding pass, etc.
The 100-year warranty lets you know this laptop bag will last a lifetime.
This slim leather laptop bag is made with no breakable parts and reinforced with extra stitching, rivets, or hidden polyester strips that don't stretch. Only three large pieces of leather make up the body of the laptop bag to minimize the number of stitches in the bag. Each time a sewing needle pokes through the leather, it actually starts a tear. So the fewer holes, the better. And we only allow five stitch holes per inch for strength.
Materials Used For These Leather Laptop Bags
We only use the toughest leather we can get (thick full-grain leather), the highest grade of hide you can buy, to make all of our leather laptop bags. The grain is the toughest and most water-resistant part of the hide and is only on the top part. So when companies sand or split off the top part of the hide to get rid of scars and blemishes they don't have to cut around them and throw that leather in the trash. That is the equivalent of taking the shingles off of the roof. But they save a lot of money making a leather briefcase. So we just cut around them and throw the expensive leather in the trash.
Lining of the Leather Bags:
We lined the leather briefcase with pigskin, which is more durable than the full-grain leather. Another advantage of lining it with a pigskin is that it is a lighter color, making it easier to see your belongings inside and in the interior pockets and compartments.
Strong Thread for a Quality Laptop Bag:
We sew it all together with a thick and strong industrial-grade Polyester thread. Polyester is great and evil. It's great because it never decomposes and holds a leather briefcase or backpack together forever. It is evil in the form of bedsheets because you don't sleep as well. We go with Polyester instead of nylon because nylon deteriorates when the sun hits it, and Polyester doesn't. It's really strong.
Strong Hardware is Essential:
Our 316 Stainless Steel hardware is definitely overkill for a Leather Briefcase, but I tell you this, you NEVER have problems with your briefcase because of the hardware. If your life needed to depend on a piece of hardware, you'd want it to depend on ours.
The Functionality of the Thin Briefcase
This thin leather laptop bag is our smallest leather briefcase and is wide enough to accommodate any 14" MacBook Pro or laptop in style. The 2019 15" Macbook Pro fits in the main compartment but not inside the soft laptop sleeve pocket. Two flatter front pockets to hold a charger, pens, cables, and papers. There aren't a lot of features and functionality, but that's on purpose. It's just a simple briefcase that is the perfect size for your smaller laptops.
FOR THE KIDS ABOUT A AL-SHABAAB ON VACATION
The last small plane we were on was from Nairobi to Lamu. From there, we took a 2 hour small boat ride to an island off the Northern Coast of Kenya, next to Somalia, where a Kenyan friend of ours told us was a really super cool place for holiday. We didn't know about all of the Al-Shabaab terrorist activity and kidnappings in the area, or we probably wouldn't have chosen it for our family vacation, but ignorance is bliss? The last night there was a little freaky. Okay, a lot freaky hanging out and discussing theology with the witchcraft practicing angel prophet of Islam, but that's for another place and time (or bag description).
So we finally get to our destination called Mike's Camp, run and owned by a British Kenyan named Mike. A charming chap who had made a barefoot luxury Gilligan's Island resort built almost entirely from woven reeds. The walls and floors were 100% woven, and the ceilings were thatched. All of it was supported by branches and sticks.
It was SUPER COOL. Unbelievable. And that's why billionaires fly in to stay there all the time. Of course, since we're not billionaires, we flew into Lamu and then took the little skiff to the island, but there are people who fly in at low tide, land on the beach and walk up the sand dunes to the camp. It's where you completely unplug. No laptop bags allowed. To read about the Angel prophet of Islam and our walk through the terrorists, go to the Slim Leather Briefcase page.
Anyways, each of those small plane bush pilots that land on the beach or take people to Lamu, have a smaller flight bag briefcase next to their seat. It's just what you do when you need all of your things in one small cramped place.
The Perfect Leather Laptop Bag for a 14" or a 15" MacBook Pro
Your 14" MacBook pro will slide perfectly inside the soft laptop sleeve pocket. Or, if you have a 15" MacBook Pro, you can slide it into the main compartment.
These Leather Bags Will Even Hold a Windows Laptop
Yes, it is true; it will not spit out a Windows laptop or even your Linux laptops or notebooks. You can probably squeeze in a Linux manual along with it. Joking aside, wouldn't this make the coolest cybersecurity backpack? Pull your Kali Linux Ultrabook out of this leather bag and the rest of your CyOps essentials, and you will have everyone around you shutting off their phones and computers.
Difference Between a Leather Laptop Bag and a Messenger Bag
While this could be used as a leather messenger bag, it is not the focus of the design. This is a bit larger than a typical messenger bag, so if you are looking for more of a cross between the two, this is the bag for you. Think of this as a messenger bag that can also accommodate your laptop.
How to Choose the Perfect Leather Laptop Bag
First, you need to figure out what size you need. This is perfect if you have a 13", 14", or 15" laptop and are not trying to fit five changes of clothes along with it.
Secondly, you will need to decide on the style. Are you the type that likes a cheap nylon laptop bag that looks factory-made by the billions that they giveaway, or do you value quality and want to carry a bag that is an extension of yourself?
Third, you should probably ensure it has a warranty because the last thing you want is for your new laptop bag to fall apart after a few months. Our leather bags come with a 100 year warranty, so you can plan on this bag outlasting you.
Fourth, you want a laptop bag that will last forever and only gets better with age. This is why we use full grain leather. It will be the ugliest the first day you own it.
Last but not least, you want to ensure it has a place for everything.
The Fourteener Thin Leather Briefcase is the perfect laptop bag for the business person on the go. It has enough room to store your 14" MacBook Pro and all other essentials without being bulky or cumbersome. The sleek design is perfect for carrying onto an airplane or into a meeting.
