Dave's Deals are items that have arrived from the factory that are fully functional, but with cosmetics defects. Some people call them factory seconds. They are still good items that come with our warranty, we're just knocking down the price because they don't pass Dave's inspection standards. Some Dave's Deals may be stamped with the letter S.

This briefcase has felt like an old friend from day one. First, it is a beautiful bag, made to last, and the Dark Coffee Brown is gorgeous in person. I love that the bag is just big enough to carry the essentials, no room for the misc junk that you don't need. My 13" Macbook Pro fits perfectly in the front pocket, my notebook/journal fits in the back sleeve, which leaves plenty of room in the main compartment for a book or 2 and my bank bag that holds all of misc cords and chargers needed in todays life. I can also carry my iPad with cover in the rear outside pocket, keeping it handy on plane trips.
If I had to complain about anything, it would be that this color scratches easily (but all of that will give it character as it breaks in and ages), and the shoulder strap needs another loop at the end to keep the strap from curling or getting caught. Lastly, the water bottle holders on the side could be just a little bigger to hold a plastic water bottle.
I hesitated many years on buying one of these because of the cost, but I can tell you that it is totally worth every penny that you pay. Everywhere I go I get complements on this bag, and I know that, like an old friend, this bag will be around when I need it.
I went from the large classic to this newest edition of the slim briefcase. Because of the generously sized front flap pocket and the inner pocket, along with the larger cavity, I don't feel I've lost much space at all and with my EDC being lighter often, it's the perfect bag for me. As always, construction is what you'd expect, and the service, well, my friends at Saddleback are like the Cheers of leather cocktails. They just do it right.
