Bear Trap Leather Pen Case

Versatile and stylish

This Bear Trap Pen Case is just plain cool. It's part of what keeps my bags organized and things in place. The spring steel closure is satisfying to open and close. The leather is full grain tumbled leather, which is the toughest and most resistent grade of leather there is. Use it as a pen case or for a pair of readers or thin profiled sunglasses. I suppose it could be used for a long coin purse if that's how you choose to use it. This is a simple little gift that everyone seems to really love.

So, What is Full Grain Leather?

In short, it is the highest quality leather available and is made from the full grain of the hide. This makes it the strongest, most beautiful, and most durable leather. Unfortunately, it is also the most expensive, so makers of cheap leather cases don't want you to be educated. All that is removed in full grain is the hair of the cow. The natural markings (brands, scars, bug bites, etc.) are all still in the hide and are cut away to make the highest quality leather pen case.

Top Grain Leather

A top grain leather bag is the second highest quality of leather and is made from the top layer of the hide that has had the finest part shaved off, the most rugged outer layer. This is done, so the manufacturer doesn't have to throw out any of the leather. Of course, it makes them a little more profit, but we are raising the bar on quality.

Genuine Leather

You get this from the department store on a black Friday sale. Retailers should remove the term genuine leather from everything, but they won't, so I will educate you. It just means leather of some type is in the item. It could be that awful bonded leather, just leather pieces and leather dust glued together to make PVC or PU leather. It is like the difference between particle board and solid wood, but worse. It is not even in the same ballpark as full grain or top grain leather. These Leather Pen Cases Know How to Keep their Mouth Shut

Like a well-educated husband's mouth, these pen cases stay shut until they are squeezed. There are custom spring steel pieces that have a memory to remain in the closed position until you squeeze it. It is actually enjoyable to squeeze, and you can do it quietly or let it pop shut by letting it loose faster.

Pretty awesome!

Pretty awesome! The flat “two side” design is not the most efficient from a width perspective, but the case does holds three large size pens. Quality Saddleback construction is without question the best you can find. The bear trap mechanism is solid, easy to open after just a few break-in cycles and remains closed so that pens do not fall out.

Great for Pens

I use this in my thin leather breifcase to keep all my pens organized. Never thought I would receive so many compliments on a pen case! Everyone loves it.

The look of the darker
