I have a confession to make.

I've been unfaithful to my wife of 25 yrs. It all started when I met this sexy dark coffee colored brunette. She stands about 18 inches tall by 20 inches wide. From the first moment I laid eyes on her, I fell head over heels. Her drop-dead gorgeous looks, her feel, her scent, her touch, and the sounds she makes are all so intoxicating........... Whew! I think I need a cigarette. ;) But seriously, I can't stop looking at or touching this bag! I'm sure my wife will understand and forgive my transgressions. Her birthday is approaching and in an attempt to get me out of the doghouse I plan to shower her with gifts that include a Saddleback chestnut tote and wallet. Good plan huh?

Not the Same as a few years ago. Quality changed.

This is not the same leather that was used to make the water bag, I bought 2-3 years ago. First, the leather on the new bag doesn't feel dense like the old bag. The old bag feels stiffer and squeaks when it's handled. The leather feels firm and solid. The new bag is dull looking and is floppy. It has a spongy feel to it. That is what I love about the old bags I have. Their leather feels solid and dense. Second, the leather on the new bag is not as smooth and the color is not deep. It looks cheaper. Did they changed the tanning process ? I saw Dave's video on their chemical tanning then looked into the process. If I had to guess, my old bags were vegetable tanned and this stuff is mass processed through chemicals. Disappointed in the bag. It doesn't have the "Wow" factor that my other bags had when they arrived and still have to this day. Nobody will be fighting over this bag when I die. Sorry Dave. Al

    Exactly what I wanted

I had been hemming and hawing over ordering this bag for over a year. I finally pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. I got the tobacco medium water bag. It is a gorgeous bag, top notch construction, and something I know I will have the rest of my life. I can easily pack it for a long weekend or a 2-3 day business trip and it has plenty of room. This is my 5th Saddleback purchase but not my last. Great company, great products, and great customer service.

    Item #3 and going!

Got my bag today and couldn't be more thrilled. This is to replace an inferior suede carry on (thanks for the leather education Dave) and it will definitely do the trick. Not only does it make me feel more confident that my bag won't fall apart (like mine did on a rented motorcycle on a California trip) but the square bottom is perfect for a luggage rack. The backpack feature is perfect since I can wear one bag (my front pocket backpack) then strap this over it, or crossbody, depending on how much I have. The add'l d rings will clip an errant helmet and keep me sane until I can put some things in the hotel room. Im envisioniong some awesome trips this upcoming spring! Even more exciting is the pigskin liner that makes carrying fishing rods and a cooler full of catfish a perfectly reasonable task for this bag, tote style. Of all four of my new digs, the versatility of this bag is the one I'm most excited about. Perfect for my family trip packing and my solo rough and rugged and wet trips alike.

"Incomparable" Large Waterbag-Maybe the best in the history of the world, honestly

My wife has now bought me a large briefcase, wallets, moleskines and now the Large Waterbag. I look at this bag and try to find words to describe it, but it is just singular, incomparable, and may be the finest bag ever made in the history of the world, the crazy thing is, that this is a true thought. One piece of hide.....Polyester thread....huge....secure, flexible, beautiful, there is nothing on the planet that can compare to it, then I thought how could anyone have ever made anything that compares before. The way the straps go down accross the one seam on the bag so that the load is not even carried by the seam is BRILLIANT Dave. I am looking forward to varying how I carry it. It is surprisingly light compared to my Large Briefcase, maybe the same weight but ten times bigger. To make things like Saddleback does, unique leather goods that may be the finest in the history of the world, is significant to our generation. Thank you for bringing this type of quality to our times Dave.
