    Awesome

Purchased this for my Henry Classic. Pulling it out of the car at the Range, and the rubber necking started. Then came the Henry Classic 30.30. What a great presentation package. Detail and stitching are old world quality. It now rests in the Liberty Safe, and every time I open the door? Well,,leather, and more leather. Thanks for an awesome case.

    Doesn't Really Work

The Gun Sleeve has all the features and superb quality that you would expect from Saddleback. The materials and workmanship are flawless and make every other leather item you own seem vastly inferior. The problem with this case is that it only works with a few types of guns, namely short, lever-actioned rifles or short barreled shotguns; neither of which are widely uses by sportsmen or collectors. Most modern rifles are equipped with a scope and will not fit in this sleeve. Most modern shotguns have barrels that are much too long to fit in the case, even with the case fully extended. I have a short barreled Remington 870 that fits in this case but the front sight often gets caught on the sheepskin lining, causing me to remove the lining to get the gun out. I am afraid that I may eventually tear the lining so I don't use it for this gun anymore. Also, the shotguns that fit in the sleeve cost less than the case, so it's kind of pointless. If you're looking to buy this as a gift I would pass.

    Perfect for cherished heirloom firearms

This gun sleeve is first class all the way. As the product description says, it is not for uber-long barreled firearms (i.e. Goose/Sporting Clays shotguns nor Barrett sniper rifles), nor firearms with mounted optics (i.e. telescopic or holographic sights), nor firearms with pistol grips or fore end grips (i.e. AR/AK style rifles, tactical shotguns, etc.). This magnificent leather gun sleeve is designed to cradle your traditional lever action rifle, bolt action or semi rifle (without optics), or traditional shotgun (i.e. Winchester 870, Mossberg 500, etc. without optics or pistol grips). Read the product description and carefully measure your rifle/shotgun to ensure proper fit. Measure twice (shame on you if you don’t!) then buy once with confidence. When you have this in your hands you’ll likely realize that having just one is not enough!

    Bit Too Small

Quality and craftsmanship are exactly what you would expect from Saddleback, but the size of the case leaves a lot to be desired and limits the guns you can use the case for. I have waited a long time for Saddleback to build a gun case, and although this is on the right track, it is not near tall enough to accommodate a scoped rifle, and far too short for most sporting clay shotguns. I got this case for my Browning Citori 525 with 30" barrel (pretty common sporting clay gun), and the strap will not even touch the buckle. It comes about 2"-3" short of being able to buckle in the first hole on the strap, and probably 4"-5" of really being functional. Saddleback done a great job as always with style, and overall design, just too small. I hope to see a taller longer version that will accommodate a broader range of rifles (maybe even with a pouch for some ammo or choke tubes).

    Gun Sleeve

Once again Dave and the crew at Saddleback have come up with a great product. The Gun Sleeve they have come out with is so nice and put together to be around for decades. I was so impressed with the looks and it fits my old lever action rifle like a glove. Next they need to design one to accommodate a scoped rifle. Keep up the great work!
