I am new to backpack (as a purse) wearing and had some travel upcoming. I looked at many backpacks. My criteria were full grain leather, top handle and the ability to change to cross body. This bag fit what I wanted/needed very well. The top handle is an absolute must and allowed me to hold the backpack while opening and making purchases. I was also easily able to move from the cab, car and airplane. The front zip pocket was perfect for my tickets and the side pockets worked well for my phone, receipts or a water bottle. The bag was with me during four days of rain and I never worried that it would get damaged. The bag only got more beautiful after being rained on and all my contents, even in my front pocket, stayed dry. The interior pockets are perfect too. I used the zippered portion for my jewelry and valuables and the open pocket held my sunglasses and other things I'd need to reach quickly. Great brag!
GOLDILOCKS BAG! I have been on a long search for an EDC backpack that does not need to fit a 13" laptop or a huge water bottle. I have had so many bags from so many great companies its hard to really get jazzed about a new find...enter the Universal Backpack! I can't even express to you how thrilled I am with this design. It's so completely comfortable to carry! Keep in mind, I wear this in backpack mode only as of now. The long shoulder strap is long but can easily accommodate more punches to shorten. The bag itself is the perfect thickness of leather which affords it structure but gives it flexibility. The color is incredible, straps are the perfect length so that long tails aren't dragging below the bag. The handle suits one handed unzipping. If you are looking for a backpack bag that's an EDC and don't need to carry your entire office or kitchen sink with you this, my friends, is it!!!! Please, please, please make this in tobacco!
Received this today and love it! Perfect size to carry every day, yet can also use as my weekend getaway bag if I pack wisely! Love the beautiful chestnut color also. Plenty of organization with 5 pockets: 3 outside, 2 inside.

I was so, so hesitant about the Universal backpack. I didn't order it for a long time because I thought it seemed awkwardly shaped...like, narrow at the top with a big scary zipper to chew my hands up because of a tapered top opening! I was SO WRONG. No scratching, *easy* to get in and out of. Opens *wide*, I can see everything inside! I really appreciate how there is no flap and the zipper is straight across the top making it really easy to ziiiiiip right open and ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip right closed with one hand. My 47th Heaven organizer from Etsy fits PERFECTLY inside. Organizer measures 11w x 4d x 7h. Total LOVE for Universal despite my initial qualms. NO zipper pulls are my only gripe, where are the zipper pulls? I need zipper pulls. I am SO awaiting this backpack in tobacco and DUSTY CARBON (with zipper pulls.)!
