Product Overview

The 14" Front Door Briefcase has a classic vintage look to it and is over-engineered to outlive you. Made with no breakable parts like zippers, magnets, or snaps, you can carry this leather bag confidently knowing it will be passed down to your kids or grandkids some day. 

Design of the Front Door Briefcase
This bag was named the 14" Front Door Briefcase because it's 14" wide and fits up to a 14" MacBook Pro, and because of the cool front door pocket. The front pocket and the Gladstone closure on the bag opens wide and the pockets stay wide open until you say otherwise.

Materials Used in Our Leather Briefcases
Leather: We only use the toughest leather we can find (full-grain leather). It does not have any of the grain shaved off, which is what most companies do to hide the scars and blemishes, but the leather also loses its toughness and integrity. We leave all the grain on because it's what makes it the toughest and most waterproof. 

Lining: Our bags are lined with pigskin, which is even tougher than our cow leather. The pigskin is a lighter color to make it easier to find what you're looking for inside your leather bag.

Thread: Our thread is unbelievably strong and UV-resistant German industrial marine-grade polyester thread. It doesn't deteriorate when the sun hits it like nylon thread does. And we use the thick Double Ought version of it.

Hardware: The hardware on this leather laptop bag is a custom 316 stainless steel, which is complete overkill. It's like killing a fly with a shotgun. But at least you know there's a better chance of Hell freezing over than your hardware failing you.

    Tobacco Front Door 14”

    This is my 2nd SB bag and probably 6-7th briefcase. I still use my Tumi Cordura for travel as it’s more functional when you need versatility but I’m really impressed. As far as a simple sturdy but elegant briefcase goes how could you get better? The Gladstone top and pocket are precise and the whole bag is typical SB built like a tank. The shoulder strap works nicely although I probably won’t use it much. The Tobacco leather is a perfect reddish blonde and it smells so good it makes me wanna drink whisky and I don’t drink. Saddle up cowboys this is it.

    Fits everything for my day

    Perfect size for all my needs. Front pocket fits four 16oz water bottles and all my snacks, and main body fits my surface pro and stethoscope with room for papers or a book. Lots of comments already.

    Front door bag

    Great quality bag. Design is average. The front door pops open without the strap closure to hold it. The bag does not stand up on its own with or without the front door open. Great space but impractical for me since it falls over and you need 2 hands to operate it at all times. The flight bag for me is the perfect bag.

    Just perfect

    This briefcase is my new EDC for work. I used to switch between the Flight Briefcase and the Thirteener, depending on how much I needed to carry on any given day. Not only is this design very elegant (the best yet in my opinion), but it's the perfect blend between my two other briefcases for my needs. Neither too heavy, nor too thin to carry my work laptop, notebook, planner, and other stuff. Great job Dave and team, thank you!

    Excellent

    I wanted a bag that was small and looked great for work. I've been looking at the SBL website for years and nothing has spoken to me until now. I chose the my 14" in black and it is a stunner. The front pocket is perfect. I could fit all my gear in there. I can't fit my 13 inch laptop in the floppy pigskin divider in the main compartment, but it fits fine outside the divider. I could also add folders with 8.5" x 11" papers in the main compartment with the laptop.
