Product Overview

The 14" Front Door Briefcase has a classic vintage look to it and is over-engineered to outlive you. Made with no breakable parts like zippers, magnets, or snaps, you can carry this leather bag confidently knowing it will be passed down to your kids or grandkids some day.

Design of the Front Door Briefcase
This bag was named the 14" Front Door Briefcase because it's 14" wide and fits up to a 14" MacBook Pro, and because of the cool front door pocket. The front pocket and the Gladstone closure on the bag opens wide and the pockets stay wide open until you say otherwise.

Materials Used in Our Leather Briefcases
Leather: We only use the toughest leather we can find (full-grain leather). It does not have any of the grain shaved off, which is what most companies do to hide the scars and blemishes, but the leather also loses its toughness and integrity. We leave all the grain on because it's what makes it the toughest and most waterproof.

Lining: Our bags are lined with pigskin, which is even tougher than our cow leather. The pigskin is a lighter color to make it easier to find what you're looking for inside your leather bag.

Thread: Our thread is unbelievably strong and UV-resistant German industrial marine-grade polyester thread. It doesn't deteriorate when the sun hits it like nylon thread does. And we use the thick Double Ought version of it.

Hardware: The hardware on this leather laptop bag is a custom 316 stainless steel, which is complete overkill. It's like killing a fly with a shotgun. But at least you know there's a better chance of Hell freezing over than your hardware failing you.

    Time for classy bag

I had a few formal business meetings and needed a new carryon/laptop bag. I own a MacBook Pro 14 inch.

I cannot stress how perfect this bag is. It looks smaller than it really is inside. The front compartment expands into the main compartment. I put my laptop and notebook in the main section and all my various chargers, headphones, passport, etc went into the front pocket.

It is build to last forever - I couldn't be happier.

    Best. Bag. Ever!

This bag really surpassed all expectations. Perfect size, beautiful color and it will age gracefully. Amazing!

    Front door bag

Its a cool concept but not practical at all. Its more of a ladies purse then a briefcase. It doesn't stand up on its own and is hard to use with one hand. the front door is so big its hard to organize anything in it. Not horrible but definitely not the best design SBL has ever put out.

14" FRONT DOOR BRIEFCASE - Chestnut

Functional perfection is rare, especially in the briefcase industry. As an attorney, I've run through more briefcases than I'd like to admit in pursuit of one that "has it all." I previously eschewed saddleback as my "daily carry" work bag due to their bags' overly rugged appearances, which did not always easily fit into the otherwise refined look oft-demanded by the profession. This bag changes the game.

The Gladstone closure is a must-have hallmark feature, for easy access to contents, documents and computers without having to manage a large "flap" closure (which can destabilize the bag and cause it to topple over). Most Gladstone closure bags on the market do not accommodate an attachment for a shoulder strap; this one does, which is very much appreciated.

The flat edged bottom provides enough width to actually keep the bag upright when it is set down.

The capacity is plentiful (mine carries an sleeved M2 MacBook Air, 12.9" iPad Pro in a Magic Keyboard, apple wireless keyboard and trackpad, AirPods Pro (inside charging case), and a half dozen saddleback leather accessories in which I store various charging cables, cords, pens, etc., and a large Apple (96W) USB-C Power Adapter.

I returned the dark chocolate brown version for the chestnut color, and couldn't be happier. This is a must have.
