Barrister Briefcase is EXACTLY what I wanted

All but one person in my family - wife and 5 children - has at least one Saddleback item. I received my first Saddleback item a few years ago as a gift. Ever since my first time on the site, I've wanted one of the briefcases, but never thought there was just the right one for me. Then, while looking a couple of months ago, I saw the Barrister Briefcase. When I read the specs, it was like Dave and I had shared a dream of what my bag should look like. In nine years of working on the road, I've gone through 4 bags. With many years left to go, I was due for #5. Back when I bought bag #4, I actually had picked out the Thin Front Pocket Briefcase, but didn't have the coin, so I bought bag #4, knowing I'd be replacing it before too long. Then, I saw the Barrister on preorder, and with an introductory discount, and I just had to figure it out. I'd nearly spent the cost of the bag on cheaper well made bags already. It arrived today, and I am beyond thrilled. This thing is gorgeous, and it's built like a tank. It will definitely last forever. I'll be repurposing this bag and still proudly using it someday when I retire. MIne is bigger than the webpage dimensions show - no problem holding a 17.5" (diagonal) laptop in either inside pocket. Finished dimensions on mine INTERIOR 18"x14"x10" open. Closed it sits 18"x12"x10" Customer service is fantastic. As mine was a preorder, I checked back every week online to see if it was made yet. I had enclosed a note to Dave in my order instructions, and I got a response back directly from him in my box. This will not be my last purchase from Saddleback, for sure. Thank you Dave and team, for doing things right. It's a pleasure to be "part of the family."

The Best Product that Saddleback Leather Company makes!

The Barrister's Briefcase is by far the best product, in an amazing line of products. Saddleback Leather Company knocked it out of the park with this one! It has all the great features and functionality of the Flight Bag, but can hold significantly more stuff. Don't hesitate if you thinking about picking one up.

    Just buy it already

As to be excepted from nothing but the best... the website description is spot on. No pitfalls. It’s fantastic form and function. Swallows anything I feed it. Leather thickness is consistent throughout. Rubbing parts are earning their worn patina nicely. After the valet, phone case, multiple briefcases, Saddleback continues to impress day after day.

Finally, the XL Flight Bag arrives!

Overall: Exactly what myself (and I’m sure many others) were looking for: a bigger version of the Flight Bag that can handle legal files/folders and a laptop. Got the chestnut #003. Size: Big enough to hold my work laptop and related accessories, plus multiple legal-size files, books, etc. Appearance: The chestnut color is perfect for a business bag, without looking too formal. Functionality: the small interior pockets are great for pens, highlighters, and business cards. The only con in having it for a while now is the Gladstone opening hinges in so far that legal-size files can get bent inward (seen in one of the photos), although I haven’t any any problems with internal documents. ’ve found that having a solid mass of files prevents any one file from taking too much of the brunt of the force though. Perhaps it’s time we stop using legal-size files since nobody uses legal-size paper anymore?
