Materials

The Love 41 Leather Belt Bag is made with full grain leather. ??Full grain leather is the equivalent of one of those 100 year slate stone rooves. The top layer of a leather hide has what's called grain. That is the tough and tight fiber top layer of any hide. It is resistant to water and stains and deterioration. When a hide is taken off of the cow, it is thick. So, they split it in half separating the lower half from the top half. Then they can sell two hides. One with the grain on it, from which we made this leather belt bag, and a lower grade without grain, that costs next to nothing, to make the low quality fall apart leather bags.

Functionality

This is a far cry for the fanny packs of old...it's a beautiful way to carry a hands-free purse. This bag is great for travel or when you're out and about with kids because it will allow you to take your essentials with you but keep your hands available for all the other things you need to do. It has a zippered front pocket and a waist strap adjustable to fit most sizes. ??

The story behind this leather belt bag

I'll admit I'm a busy mom, but not nearly as busy as a lot of you ladies out there! I'm sure you'd all agree with me that we busy moms usually have our hands full and it's pretty tough to stop and dig through our purses for something. Well this is what I had in mind when I designed the Love 41 Waist Leather Bag. This baby is a hands-free bag and it's super comfortable as well. I think it happens to also be a great size because it's not too big and not too small. It has multiple compartments inside to help you keep all your items organized (big plus!). This is the first belt bag I've ever created that has zippers and I'm really excited about the design. Whether you're a busy mom with lots of kiddos or just a woman on-the-go, the Waist Leather Bag will help you feel organized and keep convenience at your waist!

    Please Adjust the Belt Length!

    I have several SB items and love every one of them... but one common thread of concern is the length of the strap/belt. With this beauty, I had to go to a leather repairman and pay to adjust the shortest length of the belt, as it was still too long for me. I'm on the thin side and don't understand why us less-hippy girls can't be accommodated by SB (without having to pay a third-party vendor to adjust what would be a simple fix by SB - make the shortest length 26" so it can be worn on the waist or hips of a slender gal). And since SB does not offer any customer service in this regard, I'm sure others would appreciate a less-lengthy belt.

    Great for quick trips!

    I bought this in DCB and love that it is unlined. I feel like because of that design I can shove more things in there than I thought I could. I have quite a few excess straps from Love41 in my arsenal, so I decided to use the short shoulder one from my DCB Minimal Leather Bag. Now, my belt bag fits like a small little shoulder bag under my armpit. Love! I also love that I can take off the straps altogether and just throw it in my Universal Backpack or tote. Suzette does love to give us options!

    Almost perfect

    I really like the simplicity of the design to carry just the essentials. Unfortunately, I had to return it after not looking closely enough at the dimensions. The strap is too long to carry around my 30” waist at the tightest setting (9.5” bag width + 25.5” strap on shortest setting ≈ 35”), and the metal adjustment part dug into my shoulder when trying to carry as a sling. Would probably have worked if carried a little lower around the hips, but that would emphasize the wrong area for me. The only way I can see to improve this would be two different strap length options for XS-M and M-XL. I decided to go with the new crossbody zipper purse instead, which is perfect.

    i just rec'd my second belt bag, black this time. it is GORGEOUS. i already have the tobacco one, and recently took it on a trip. it was everything i was looking for. it held all my essentials with room to spare. and the patina! well, lets just say it just keeps getting better. also, this bag fits beautifully in the universal bp, also used on this trip. i am hooked on this brand.
