    Disappointed in hardware change

Just purchased my third Old Bull belt, it’s been about 9 years since I purchased my last one. Both of my previous belts are still going strong, only reason I purchased a new one is that I’ve lost a good bit of weight so the old ones were too big. The new belt arrived today and the leather is great as usual and the new stainless buckle is nice too. My problem comes down to the new attaching hardware which are now permanent rivets. The older style belts used Chicago Screws, which were great as they allowed you to easily change buckles. The new rivets make changing buckles impossible without drilling out the rivets and buying new hardware. I’ve subtracted one star because the product description talks about the new buckle, but says nothing about no longer being attached by Chicago Screws. I’m not sure how much of a cost savings these new rivets made for Saddle Back, but I would have gladly paid a bit more to have had the old hardware. So one step forward on the buckle and one step back on the hardware, my biggest issue is not telling people about the hardware change.

    Best belt

I’ve always owned cheap belts that fall apart within the year. They’re either too tight or too loose. I finally splurged on a Full Grain leather belt & do not regret it. It’s a perfect fit. There’s no sagging if you have your pockets stuffed. It’s not too tight where you’re sort’ve in pain to breathe. The buckle is heavy duty, so it’s got a nice hard latch that’s easy to undo. It’s a thick, solid piece of leather that even smells phenomenal even after wearing it a couple of weeks. I bought a full grain leather wallet from SaddleBack leather couple months back. That’s what essentially got me to order the belt. With this company, you’re getting quality USA made products. Definitely worth the money if you want to keep your stuff for a while.

    Solid Old Bull

I'm only now writing this review but have had my belt for almost 10 years. I''m an industrial mechanic and often hang tools from my belt or work in damp environments that seem to really soften leather. Previously I used to go through 2 belts a year -going on 10 I can confirm this belt is strong stuff. Over the very long term I will say that the leather stretches a bit to contour to the fit (if you hang mine from a hook it's not straight anymore). I used to buckle it at the 2nd hole, then changed to the 1st, eventually I bored my own '0'th hole which is what I use now. (I'm a little thicker at the waist than I was when I bought the belt so it's definitely the leather stretching out). I see they now have a note on the product saying it sizes a bit large which was true for me. Looks like they have changed the buckle a bit since then but I'm assuming the belt leather is about the same. Anyway the belt is still strong as ever and I expect to get another 10 or more years out of it, worst case scenario is I drill another hole further in as it stretches. Even if I ever did wear this thing out someday, I'd happily buy another and settle for 2 belts to last a lifetime.

    Old Bull Belt

I promise you this is the thickest, strongest belt you”ll ever find. I was a bit apprehensive about the price, but completely understand it now. Great belt, in fact ordering another color now.
