Great craftsmanship, extremely sturdy and you beat the looks. Mine takes a beating everyday and still looks great 2 years later. Get yourself some leather milk to dress it back up or embrace the patina. Looks amazing either way.
This is my first product from Saddleback. This bag was gifted to me for Christmas and it's undoubtedly cool. From a utilitarian standpoint, it falls a little short. It's REALLY heavy (I can't imagine how heavy the full-sized one is) and it's a pain in the backside buckling and unbuckling everything when I'm traveling and trying to access my stuff. As far as the "They'll fight over it when you're dead" mantra, I highly doubt it. The stitching on the shoulder straps where it connects to the bag is already starting to separate. I'd post a picture here but that doesn't seem to be an option. If you're looking for something that looks really cool, this is the bag for you. Personally, I feel like function and form should work coexist, especially when you're spending half a G on a bag that's promised to last a lifetime.
Ordered it and it made it to Australia in under a week with monogramming. I’ve lusted after one for years and for my 30th birthday, my mum gave me this. The first thing I noticed was the smell, the second I opened it, the rich leather smell hit me in the face in the nicest way possible. I also firmly believe that it’ll last a lifetime and then some! I appreciate quality and workmanship and have no problem paying for it. This bag has it all and the looks to boot. My only complaint is they say you can hide a passport in the false bottom but this bag is actually about 1/4 to 1/2 too thin to actually hide a passport. But why would you anyway? The first thing a thief is going to take is the bag!
Well I somewhat disagree with Scott the "Instagram model". The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding on this bag. Opening and closing this bag with its straps and buckles takes sometime, but it gives you pause and makes you appreciate what a special bag this is. I agree it is a bit heavy, but that comes the materials and the undoubted ruggedness of this bag. I get comments on this bag wherever I go. I have wanted one for years and it is everything I expected it to be. Don't wait like I did, buy this bag! You will not regret it.
