Our purpose is not to change the world by loving orphans, single moms and ex-prisoners one at a time. It’s to work with a Love 41 community/family of loving and nurturing people to do it. If you want to but you’re not sure how, then join us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter to learn more. We’ll help you get plugged in.
Read MoreIt is plain and simple with no breakable parts like zippers, wheels, snaps, or buttons and built with as few seams as possible because seams are where all duffle bags start falling apart. Therefore, there are only two really big pieces of leather with a solid piece sewn on each end of this travel bag. And we sew the leather at only 5 stitches per inch, so there's more leather between the needle holes and fewer holes to start a tear. I designed it to be versatile. Buckled smaller at the first hole to be smaller or expanded way out jam-packed, buckled at the last hole. The dimensions are ideal to be able to fill it up and be around a 50 lb. limit. You could fit a dead body in it, like a deer or wild hog or something. This beast of a leather duffle bag is for big travel where a lesser man's luggage just won't do. I know you could get one with wheels (that will soon break), but why? Get this and add a little exercise to your day. Seriously, don't be afraid of using your muscles. It's good for you.
---Cows are waterproof, right? It's because the top part of their hide has tightly woven together fibers. So the skin still has all of the grain (Full Grain Leather). No scars have been shaved or sanded off to leave only a little bit of the grain there (Top Grain Leather). Therefore, it's the strongest cow leather there is, and that's what we use. And we use thick full-grain. It's then lined with pigskin, which is tougher than cowskin. This pigskin lining adds incredible strength combined with the cowskin. Our custom 316 Stainless Steel hardware is amazing (please, please google it). It's the metal of choice when your life depends on it. The thread is strangely strong industrial marine grade UV resistant polyester thread. And thick. No other leather duffle bag will last as long as this one.
---We design and make our leather duffle bags to last. From the quality material to the craftsmanship, we put our best into everything we make. So if you are looking for a leather overnight bag with an adjustable shoulder strap, a leather weekender bag, or a large duffle bag like this one, we make them. Not good quality, but great quality travel bags are from Saddleback Leather Co. You will feel fulfilled carrying our high quality leather bags.
I received my Beast yesterday afternoon after eying Dave's Deals for the past six months to see if it would show up. It is everything I expected and more! Amazing quality (as always), will no doubt work fantastically on my annual summer trips to southern Africa, and will definitely fit everything I will need plus some. Overall, amazing duffel, can't wait to wear it in!

This thing is aptly named. My beast is dark coffee brown. We have two daughters and when we go on vacation we were always lugging tons of bags, so I ordered a beast with the goal of getting down to one bag. The bag itself is massive. On our next family vacation, everything fit into one bag, which posed a few new challenges I wasn't prepared for. One was the weight of the bag...it was easily 40-50 pounds. The bag itself didn't even sweat. No fear of it breaking, tearing, etc, its built like a tank. I'd suggest a hand cart. The second challenge was also in relation to size. We pretty much live out of our bag and don't put our stuff in drawers. It was tough finding everyone's clothes since they were all piled into essentially a big trunk without compartments. . If you're an unpacker, this is the bag for you. If you're like us, you'd be better off with a suitcase or duffel bag or two with more compartments. Pick the right bag for your lifestyle. The other thing is people will want to talk about to you about your bag. I got a handful of "nice bag!" comments and even one guy nodding and smiling "saddleback?" This is not the bag for you if you just want to be left alone. It's perhaps the manliest of man bags.

I bought this beast in the fall of 2013 before my trip of teaching oversees. During this initial trans-pacific journey, The Beast proved to be a hardy workhorse carrying the great weight of burdens I had placed on it. As with all pack animals, we tend to overladen them. This time it was no exception. Upon arriving in this new world, the Beast and I established our new homestead. Thus earning itself a well deserved respite and a winter hibernation. Lets fast-forward to the present. It is now March 2014 and The Beast has awaken. Its now a new season and once more The Beast takes heavy loads with a tireless effort and the doggedness of youth. Many a passerby marvel at its enormity and musculature and silently wish that they too had such a behemoth by their side. When they ask me where I discovered such an animal, I simply declare: "It will live a hundred years!

I work in Northern Alberta, Canada in the oil field. I am way from home most of the time, and the beast is my go-to bag. I have blown out and wrecked so many bags over the years its about time I got a bag that can hold up. I also carry a large breifcase and Large front pocket backpack. Sure it was expensive, but in 30 years when I retire the cost per year will be minimal. Keep up the good work Dave. Also SBL customer service is top notch.
