    Waterbag. Awesome.

The saddleback team helped me out with some customs issues. They were accessible, polite and ultimately successful in resolving my issue. The waterbag is a sensational bag. It's my first saddleback item and the quality and craftsmanship are fantastic. The tough yet beautifully supple full grain leather gives off a delightful aroma and despite Dave's comment about out-of-the-box being as ugly as it gets, mine looked like it had just come out of a "Raiders" adventure - brilliant! I use it for business travel, for holidays for a gym bag...basically any time i can. The backpack configuration works really well and is relatively quick to set up and, whilst it might not be as quick as a zip, tightening down the three leather straps through those shiny 316 stainless buckles is a joy...kind a like a mini meditation. My boys won't be fighting over it when I'm dead, 'cause I'm gonna take mine with me :-) Cheers

    Multi-year

My wife and I travel quite a bit, and I've owned this piece since 2015. I cannot imagine taking a trip without it. If you travel with someone that at some point will inevitably ask, "is there room for" then you want this bag. If you wouldn't mind people taking note of your bags, then you want this bag. Beautiful, supple leather that just ages so well. We own it in Chestnut with a matching Simple Backpack with side pouches. (I have a large Classic Briefcase that by now has aged to nearly look Chestnut itself). Sorry to say these won't get cheaper - we held our noses and dove in and bought them at what I thought were scandalous prices. They are considerably more now. If I were going to buy one piece of long term luggage, this would be it.

    Great Bag

Purchased this about two years ago. I have several Saddleback bags and this one is my favorite weekend getaway bag. I used it for a seven day trip and it was tight but I got everything in there. Due to the way it is constructed you can shrink or expand the height to make it fit your needs.

    Unique Bag, very functional

If you're looking for a bare bones carry-all with class, this is it. No pockets, but definitely able to pack a bunch of stuff quite securely. Not the normal appearance for luggage either, so it leaves an impression. The only thing I would do differently is make it slightly larger, so that I had an option more closer to the mid-range between The Beast and the Doctor's Bag, but that's a small gripe in the grand scheme of things.

    5 years and counting

This is my third piece (after large briefcase and messenger bag). It’s strong, beautiful, and very useful with its size. Classic, functional, timeless.
