Design of the Leather Laptop Bag
The Fourteener Thin Briefcase is an over-engineered leather laptop bag. Yes, there is a pocket for a 14" MacBook Pro, and you can squeeze a 15" laptop in the main compartment. There are also pockets for everything else you might need to bring with you. An iPad, iPhone, tablet or notebook, business cards, passport, boarding pass, etc. This slim leather laptop bag is made with no breakable parts and reinforced with extra stitching, rivets, or hidden polyester strips that don't stretch. Only three large pieces of leather make up the body of the laptop bag to minimize the number of stitches in the bag. Each time a sewing needle pokes through the leather, it actually starts a tear. So the fewer holes, the better. And we only allow five stitch holes per inch for strength. The 100-year warranty lets you know this laptop bag will last a lifetime.

The Leather for our Briefcases
We only use the toughest leather we can get (thick full-grain leather), the highest grade of hide you can buy, to make all of our leather laptop bags. The grain is the toughest and most water-resistant part of the hide and is only on the top part. So when companies sand or split off the top part of the hide to get rid of scars and blemishes they don't have to cut around them and throw that leather in the trash. That is the equivalent of taking the shingles off of the roof. But they save a lot of money making a leather briefcase. So we just cut around them and throw the expensive leather in the trash.

The Lining
We lined the leather briefcase with pigskin, which is more durable than the full-grain leather. Another advantage of lining it with a pigskin is that it is a lighter color, making it easier to see your belongings inside and in the interior pockets and compartments.

The Thread
We sew it all together with a thick and strong industrial-grade Polyester thread. Polyester is great and evil. It's great because it never decomposes and holds a leather briefcase or backpack together forever. It is evil in the form of bedsheets because you don't sleep as well. We go with Polyester instead of nylon because nylon deteriorates when the sun hits it, and Polyester doesn't.

The Hardware
Our 316 Stainless Steel hardware is definitely overkill for a Leather Briefcase, but I tell you this, you NEVER have problems with your briefcase because of the hardware. If your life needed to depend on a piece of hardware, you'd want it to depend on ours.

The Functionality of the Fourteener Briefcase
This thin leather laptop bag is our smallest leather briefcase and is wide enough to accommodate any 14" MacBook Pro or laptop in style. The 2019 15" Macbook Pro fits in the main compartment but not inside the soft laptop sleeve pocket. Two flatter front pockets to hold a charger, pens, cables, and papers. There aren't a lot of features and functionality, but that's on purpose. It's just a simple briefcase that is the perfect size for your smaller laptops.
