92% of laptop damage comes from dropping. 94% of statistics are made up. The real damage happens when your laptop bag falls to the ground with your computer in it, not just when your laptop slides off your lap. Therefore, we purposefully designed the bottom of this leather laptop sleeve to create an air pocket and leather bumper to absorb the impact.&&Remember that not all damage to laptops results in a dent, just like not all damage done to a person ends in a bruise. Some of the worst damage happens on the inside, by a shock or a harsh word. This horizontal leather sleeve is normally left in your laptop bag to protect your MacBook Air or 16" MacBook Pro. Fits loosely, but not too loosely so the leather laptop sleeve doesn't lift out of your bag when you pull your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air out of your briefcase.&&If need be, you can pull your laptop out and fill the leather laptop sleeve with files, papers and magazines so they don't get wrinkled.
I have been waiting for a long time for this product to return to production and i have ordered it as soon as i saw it in the site, although it did not seem as beautiful as the previous version. A couple of days after my order the first reviews started coming in and i got worried. When it finally arrived and opened it I was relieved. My first impression was that the real thing is much more beautiful than the picture. It is bigger than my Macbook Pro retina to the extent that if you flip it over it will fall. However it is excellent to carry around and even better as a protecting cover in my briefcase. In my opinion in the briefcase the disadvantage of sliding free becomes advantage since you can easily take out only the Macbook and not the whole case which i find very functional.

There seems to be some dislike of the MacBookPro sleeve specific to the fit. Some saying its to lose. It discouraged me from purchasing. But I went ahead anyway. I have zero issue with the fit. In fact its stung as a bug even after a few months of use. I think perhaps there was a design change and then it changed back to the center stitch version . Its perfect fit. Thanks Dave!

After reading some negative publicity on this site I felt the need to say a few words. First of all, I am a loyal Saddleback customer and one for life if the product quality stays the same. Second, this sleeve exactly what your MacBook pro retina display needs. As soon as this hit the site I bought one. It is a perfect fit and protects the computer from everything but large falls. It is different from the original design but in no way does it lack quality or fuctionality from the old MacBook sleeve. As with every Saddleback purchase I have made; I truly feel that this product is engineered to perfection for its function. So although it may not be the same as the last MacBook sleeve; it is the perfect addition.

I got a sleeve for my sisters MacBook and I fell in love with the look of it and how you could see all the stitching. This design just doesn't look very appealing to the eye. Wish they still had the old one.
