Product Overview

Over-Engineering
We use only the best: full-grain leather, strong pigskin lining and premium marine-grade thread (the kind used on ships sails). Lasts a lifetime - simply switch out a new notebook and keep the worn and patinaed leather journal cover on the new A5 Leuchtturm1917, Moleskine® journals™ or your choice of planner, journal, or notepad that measures up to 5.5” wide and 8.5” tall. Hardcover journals and planners fit best. Can be used with most similarly sized non-Moleskine or Leuchtturm journals and becomes especially beautiful with age. Recycle the A5 cover for years of journal use. Leather Journal Cover only. Journal not included.

We are very aware of the controversy of the newer company, Moleskine from 1997, taking the design and functionality of the Leuchtturm1917 and taking it to market in a big and popular way. We call it a Leather Moleskine Cover because it fits both perfectly, plus dozens of other brands and sizes, but we are usually in favor of the original, if they are quality and innovative. We have employees who only use Leuchtturm1917 journals because they like how the pages are each numbered and that they have a table of contents that you can put in there to find notes. It's interesting the controversy. Bottom line, we make quality leather journal and planner covers for quality designs.

    Great cover!

Just got this as a Dave’s deal and can’t find anything wrong with it. It’s pretty heavy duty and well constructed. I bought it to hold my registration/insurance documents in my car and I might have to rethink that. It’s too lovely to just sit in a glovebox. It’s the new design and I’m really liking it. Very good design, great smell, great dark coffee brown color. Amazing overall!!

    Would have given 5 stars...

I really love this new style journal cover! The DCB is some of the most awesome I have seen in a long time. It is almost dusty! My A5 journal fits perfectly and the other side give plenty of room for storage. The ONLY thing is the pen loop. I use my journal for fountain pens, and NONE of them fit. I have been in the process of stretching it for the last few days. Most fountain pens are a good size and not skinny. The only thing this needs is a piece of Elastic on the backside of the pen loop to make it stretch for any sized pen. Otherwise it is perfect. Please make the pen loop stretch.

Leather Moleskine Cover, a true treasure

Hey there, Scott here, not with Saddleback Leather. I bought a leather moleskine cover and you should too if you’re in the market. It’s beauty is matched only by it’s thoughtful design and exceptional leather quality. You will not regret your decision. I will plan to buy one in each color.

Still loving it a year later.

I've had my Moleskine cover for a little over a year and absolutely love it. I'm grad. student in a writing program, so I use it every single day. I love how strong the leather is, how nice it smells, and the fact that I can tuck my Lamy fountain pen across the top and keep everything together. The more I use it, the cooler the patina. /Users/stephaniekayescott/Desktop/IMG_2442.jpeg
