Love the new tobacco-like brown leather on the large notepad

The large notepad I ordered is sturdy, great design, and well-constructed. I greatly appreciate the veteran discount that helps offset the tax. I've given one-star reviews on Saddleback products in the past (due to fit and finish) but I haven't had any poor experiences in the last four notepads I have purchased over the years. My favorite feature of the large notepad is the color I ordered, brown. The brown in the past I could not stand due to its waxy and un-leatherlike texture, waxy feel and appearance... just seemed feminine and fake (pleather-like) and so I avoided my favorite color in my many purchases (20+); I always defaulted to the acceptable tobacco color. This newer version of brown that's similar to the tobacco is AWESOME! It has a rough finish and patinas right away. It is also tanned the same color all the way through unlike in the past. PLEASE SBL, don't change the brown leather you have currently going for what you used in the past ! ! !

    Still Enjoying It

Bought this In November and use it to hold my iPad Pro. The 11” version fits snugly with its keyboard in the left side pigskin pocket. Plenty of room for proposals and the right side has the slot for an 8.5. x 11 pad that works beautifully for taking notes with clients. Great product. Thanks!

    Nice, but Not Perfect

The portfolio is really heavy and takes up a lot of space in my bag. The leather strap feature, while superconvient is awkward when in small spaces and sharing a tabletop. Putting the strap under the portfolio makes a bump when writing and leaving the strap extended is intrusive and invades other people's surface space when in close quarters. I have gotten compliments on it, but overall feel it may be too masculine in look for me.
