Over-Engineering a Leather Tote
This full-grain leather tote bag is definitely simple, but with thought put into the design. There aren't any breakable parts like magnets or snaps or zippers so you can hand this tote down to someone who will hand it down. We reinforced the stitching of the handles with copper rivets and hidden polyester straps. It's designed with just a few large pieces of leather so there are fewer seams. And those seams only have 5 stitches per inch so that there is more leather between each hole. Holes are really just the beginning of a tear in any leather tote bag.

Materials
Our cowhide is the toughest we can buy because it's full-grain. The grain of leather is like a roof's shingles. If you take the top part of the leather off (the grain) to get rid of the scars and blemishes, then you're taking the shingles off of the roof. And we all know how that goes. The custom hardware is made of 316 Stainless Steel. If you're a metallurgist, then I'm sure you just gasped. It's the kind of metal they use for when your life depends on it. I know it's a small detail, but we're really proud of it. The thread used is really strong UV resistant industrial Polyester thread. It's more expensive, by far, but doesn't deteriorate when the sun hits it like Nylon does. You won't find another leather tote bag like it. This is a good Leather Purse.

Functionality
Not everybody appreciates a leather tote bag with built-in handles until they start using them. We put them there for grabbing the tote when it is set up kind of high and is a little uncomfortable to grab it by the straps. You'll see what I mean when you get it.
