    Saddleback Club Membership Bundle

These bags are fantastic! I purchased one for me and one for my husband (one of each color). Our only complaint is that there are not enough holes in the roll side of the duffle strap to make it tight enough unless it is full, and I believe this has already been fixed for future purchases. Lovely texture, nice weight and "give" - this bag is going to be our go-to weekender for many years to come.

    Saddleback Club Membership

When I first found out about the Saddleback leather Club membership, I had to read it twice. I could not believe I would get some great leather products for just $499. I have a couple of their wallets and I love them. They have only gotten better with age and use. So, I jumped on this opportunity and received my order in Dark Coffee Brown. To say it is gorgeous would be an understatement. The Military Duffle is awesome, and I can’t wait to use it on my next adventure. My favorite part is that it appears to have on top of my bag what could have been a brand and it only adds great character and uniqueness to my bag. I have always loved Saddleback products for their quality, functionality and of course looks. Besides you can never go wrong when you share a birthday with the El Presidente.

    What More Can I Say

Apparently, a lot more. I received my Saddleback Club leather goods including the military duffle in Dark Chocolate Brown just as Dave said. Wow! My wife thinks I am fascinated with Saddleback Leather and I am. I love quality companies that produce quality products and Saddleback is at the top of my list. The tumbled leather is beautiful and has that quality feel (heft) Saddleback is known for but it also has a wonderful softness to it. I can't wait to take it to Quebec Canada in a week or so on my fishing trip with friends and on my Alaskan cruise in September with my wife, her sister and boyfriend. I am sure I will get plenty of compliments on the duffle like I get with my other Saddleback offerings. In my earlier review, I said Dave had Charisma which I believe he does but he also has a design genius and his wife Suzette who I have corresponded with regarding their Lion's Heart Academy and charitable book drive on Amazon is equally wonderful. I hope I can make the tour of the factory in old Mexico, visit the tannery and showroom and meet Dave and Suzette. I showed a co-worker at work who is from Nigeria Dave's video of him walking behind a pack of lions with I believe the Pilot's Bag and he assured me that he would not be walking behind the lions - real bravery Dave. Can't wait to sign up for next year's Saddleback Club. Thank you Saddleback Team.

    Traveled Europe with #nocheckedbags

We travel to Europe at least annually. On the last several trips, at least one of our checked bags have been delayed, which is a total hassle involving waiting at the airport (if we're lucky) or waiting around our Airbnb for a courier to deliver them. When planning our three-week trip for this summer (Oslo, Bergen, Stroud, and London--five flights, one train) we decided to travel without checking bags. Just a few weeks before our trip, I received the email about the Saddleback Club membership and fell in love with the military duffle. I bought it immediately and had my bag in hand before our departure. The great thing about the military duffle is the access to the compartment at one end of the bag via a buckled leather flap. I put my shoes (or boots depending on which I wore on a particular flight), toiletries, and other liquids that I have to remove at airports in that end of the bag. It made passing through security at DFW, Bergen, Oslo, and Heathrow a piece of cake! While the bag was packed pretty heavy, the way the duffle wrapped around my hip made it easy to carry. It can also be worn as a backpack but I only did this once because I was also carrying a lot of equipment (laptop, portable monitor, cabling, camera--I had to record a podcast while abroad), snacks for the flights, and some work-related docs in my Saddleback front pocket backpack. The backpack, by the way, fits perfectly under the seat on the plane--even when I have to fly coach. The duffle, packed to the gills, fit in the overhead on our American flight from/back to the US without a problem. On the smaller regional aircraft used by SAS between UK and Norway, it fit longways in the overhead but not nose-in like they really prefer you stow your carryons. But no one ever gave me any grief about it. The organizer bags were great for carrying all of the cords and international adapters--including an international power strip--I carried with me. Those were mostly in my backpack most of the trip. My only regret was that I didn't think about clipping my Saddleback satchel to the outside of the duffle. It would have made access to my passport, phone, and cash a lot easier when I was carrying both the backpack and the duffle using the cross-body strap. Well, I'll be sure to include the satchel on my next adventure to Mexico later this summer! I also got a number of favorable comments on both the duffle and the backpack (which isn't unusual). One person even asked if they were from Saddleback! Bottom line, this duffle is my new primary piece of luggage. It is good looking and practical.
