Convertible Crossbody Design

This compact crossbody / backpack might be small, but it’s packed with features. The original prototype was just a crossbody, but someone said, "hey, it'd be cool if you could also wear it as a backpack if you wanted"... hence, the backpack mode. The interior compartment has space for a tablet, small book, or all your daily essentials. Adjustable leather shoulder straps. The tumbled leather gets softer and develops a really nice patina over time, becoming uniquely yours with every use.

    My FAVORITE Saddleback Bag!

    At the time of this writing, there are only 2 reviews...which is absolutely crazy for such an amazing bag/backpack! I've had many of the Saddleback backpacks over the years ...always looking for the perfect one. Well I finally found it with this one. It's the perfect size to carry keys (clipped to the outside), big Love 41 wallet, gum, small umbrella, tissues, ChapStick (also clipped in), plus probably other things I have no business carrying. Oh my phone just slips in the outside pocket.... PERFECT!!! It's always in backpack mode for me, but it's nice to know I have options if I ever want to crossbody it. I'm usually one to change bags every week, but haven't since I got this beauty! LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Now to order another in TB. :)

    Versatile, compact and stylish little beauty

    I've been a customer of Saddleback and Love 41 for a long time (closer to two decades than one), so I've owned many over the years. The majority have been backpacks, or backpack capable, so when this little beauty arrived on the scene, I had to have it, and wanted to live with it for a bit before I posted a review. In short, I love it. I thought I would use it in backpack mode most of the time, but it's so light and comfy I've kept it in crossbody config even running all around NYC for 4 days on its maiden voyage. There was something nostalgic to me about this bag that took me a minute to figure out. Back when I was a poor, young college kid I went to a surplus store and got an old gas mask bag for five bucks. I used that beat up thing for years until it fell apart, and this bag reminds me of that. It's comfortable, holds just the right amount, molds to my body, and its Saddleback quality so it will last forever. I absolutely LOVE the flat, back, outside pocket for quick access to my phone, if my bag doesn't come with one I always add it myself. The one large, floppy, inside pocket on the back wall is the perfect amount of organization. Just buy it, this is a great bag that can be used in so many situations, whether you need a hands-free backpack, or to keep it close and accessible as a crossbody. It fits more than it looks like it will, but never felt heavy or uncomfortable fully packed out in either configuration. If you've made it all the way through this review, just buy it, it's a really great bag!

    In love!

    I always wanted the 12" to be a tad smaller with an outside slip pocket, this is PERFECT for my everyday carry, with an option to go into backpack mode. I told my husband this is the women's indiana but I get a backpack too!! So overjoyed with this purchase, SBL knocked it out the park for me on this one!!
