The new Simple Drawstring Backpack is a sleek and minimalist design for those who need function with no bulk at all. For quick trips, concerts, a gym bag, or when you need to carry a few items without the bulk of a traditional backpack. Built with just three materials: full-grain tumbled leather, strong pigskin lining, and thick marine grade thread, it's tough, yet lightweight (it weighs less than 1 lb.).

Leather: we only use the toughest leather we can get our hands on (full grain leather). And this leather is "tumbled leather" which the tannery says is actually stronger. The beauty if tumbled leather is that it's kind of already broken in for you, so when you wear this leather drawstring bag, you'll feel it hug your back. It's supple, yet super tough. 

Lining: we only lined just over half of this drawstring bag where we felt it was needed to give enough structure, yet keep it as lightweight as we could. The backside and a small portion of the bottom on the front are lined with strong, yet soft, pigskin lining instead of some pretty nylon fabric that's going to tear. 

Thread: the thread we use is a thick, marine-grade UV-resistant polyester thread that doesn't deteriorate over time after being in the sun. The thread is super important because things always fall apart at the seams.... the saying is true. That's why we over-engineer all of our leather bags with the same type of thread used on ship sails and parachutes. You know, things your life depends on. If it's good enough thread for a parachute, it'll work for our leather bags.
