When I opened the box containing my Grandfather Overnight Case, there was an audible gasp! It took my breath away. This case is incredible. Not only does it look sharp and vintage, it has loads of room. The two inner pockets are larger than I expected and quite deep and spacious. The design is fantastic. So much thought went into this case. The slightly tapered edge to the main compartment ensures a smooth and secure closure. It remains open with ease for packing and has the versatility to pack contents in the main compartment two ways. I love this. I would be more likely to pack suits and such with the main compartment on the bottom, while more casual travel, I would likely pack upright with stacking. It also fits packing cubes like a dream I realize this seems a bit misleading with the term “overnight”. I assure you, you can pack so much more. I can easily fit 4 days of clothes in this with my packing cubes (the slim 2.8” x 14” x 5” ones). The pockets are great for toiletries and odds and ends. Great job on this one, Dave! This is a smart case both in looks and design! Well executed.
The overnight case is such a smart, well-designed bag. I'm very happy with my purchase. This is my first saddleback leather product and I've got to say the quality and workmanship lives up to the company's reputation. I got the tobacco leather case, and my only note is I wish the buckle and handle loops or bronze, or whatever color closely matches the rivets. The nickel hardware feels out of place.

My Saddleback collection is growing. I thought the Grandfather Overnight Case seemed cool and quirky enough to give it a go. It is really well thought out. I have been startled by how much it holds, and the ease with which it packs/unpacks. It's like a mini-dresser. Certainly attracts quite a few eyeballs, not the least of which are my own.
