Materials Used in this Thin Leather Briefcase

Our leather is the strongest we can find (full-grain leather). It still has all of the grain on it. We line the leather briefcase with pigskin for even more strength. The thread is unbelievably strong industrial marine grade UV resistant polyester thread, and our custom hardware is 316 Stainless Steel. It's the metal of choice when your life depends on it. We consider every single detail when making a leather bag guaranteed to last 100 years.

Made with the Best Full Grain Leather

Our Thin Front Pocket Briefcase is made out of the toughest, full-grain leather. This is the top layer of the hide and has all of the grain, making it tougher and more water-resistant. Most companies will use a cheaper, thinner leather that is easy to process and falls apart in a few years.

The Different Colors of the Thin Front Pocket Briefcase

The natural color of Tobacco (tan, light brown) might be the most common. It has a casual look but develops a beautiful patina over time. Some people prefer a different style, so for those, we also offer this leather in Dark Coffee Brown and Chestnut (reddish brown).

D-Rings on the Bottom

The bottom of the thin leather briefcase has four d-rings that can be used to hold anything from your umbrella to a rolled blanket or tent and use it like a knapsack. Think outside the office, away from business; you can look professional or casual with this rugged leather briefcase. It is a great bag to have on your back when you go hiking, fishing, traveling, or into the office.

The Perfect Size Thin Leather Briefcase for a 15" or 16" Laptop

This slim leather briefcase is big enough to hold everything you need but not too big or bulky. The dimensions of this briefcase are 15" x 11" and only 3 1/2" thick, so it fits up to 16" laptops. We make larger bags, but not everyone is trying to carry a 17" laptop along with a gaming chair in their briefcase.

Perfect Amount of Pockets

These thin leather briefcases have a main compartment that is the perfect size for a 15" or 16" laptop and a notebook, with room for a few more books and Dude Wipes. Two inside pockets for pens and pencils. On the front there are two pockets that buckle closed, great for chargers, cables, etc. Behind those pockets are hidden pockets that make it easy access for smaller things.

Back Magazine Pocket

Yes, we even put a back magazine pocket in this briefcase. You know, when you are on that long flight and just want to unwind with some Field and Stream, or maybe you want to catch up on the latest National Geographic. Now you have a place to put it.

Detachable Shoulder Strap

Not everyone likes a shoulder strap on their leather briefcase, and sometimes you just need a quality thick strap of full grain leather for other things. So in our leather briefcases, we make the shoulder straps detachable and also adjustable. I can't tell you how many times I've used a bag strap to tie down luggage.

What Makes a Saddleback Leather Briefcase Worth It?

We care about much more than making money. Sure, that is required to keep a company running, but we care more about making quality leather goods. This is the reason we use only the highest quality materials, and the most durable construction methods possible. Making a difference is our goal in every life that we touch with our designs, so we take it seriously when we say that we will warranty your leather bag for 100 years. Think of it this way: when you buy a Saddleback Leather briefcase, sure, you're buying it for yourself... but you're really just breaking it in for whoever you plan on passing it down to.

    A solid companion

This was the second bag that I got from Saddleback Leather. The first bag I got was a medium round satchel. I loved the quality of the first bag I got; but it was just too small for what I needed. (My wife also thought it looked like a purse) So, I sent the satchel back and ordered this bag. I almost made the mistake of getting the thin briefcase; but, I am SO happy that I got the thin front-pocket briefcase! This bag is a great size to carry around everyday. It is very functional with the two front pockets (and the two "hidden" pockets behind the front pockets) From the moment the shipping box was opened, I could tell this was a well made bag. It is strong and each piece of the bag carries that substantial weight of quality. I did a TON of research online about bags before I purchased a Saddleback Bag, and this is the only choice for anybody wishing to purchase a bag that they can count on and love. It is my LAST bag!

    Best-in-class men's attachÃ:copyright:

I've had an SBL Classic Medium briefcase in Chestnut for about 1.5 years and like it alright. Just "alright" because the bag is very heavy when full and the styling is not very modern (the bag is very fat!). I sincerely appreciate the level of construction but since the bag is so heavy I would often still opt for my backpack, which doesn't go so well with the suits I keep wearing. Figured I'd sell it when I got this one, but as any SBL customer knows, it is very hard to part with your well-loved leather. Oh well! So I bought the Thin Front Pocket Briefcase to try out a more modern briefcase look and function. I was hoping the weight would mean that I actually take a briefcase out for the day. It is about 1.5lbs lighter than the classic medium, which I unfortunately don't notice much. But this bag is pure gorgeous! It is the most slim of all SBL briefcases yet will still hold a lot of goodies thanks to the extremely useful front pockets. The interior holds a lot too don't get me wrong. I don't care so much for the cigar pocket actually (too deep and skinny to reach into), but the other two side pockets are really outstanding. If you don't care about having a slimmer briefcase, I'd be willing to bet the standard front pocket briefcase would be perfect for you--it strikes me as the perfect compromise between the classic and this one. I'm positive that this brief will age just as well as my Classic. I am also extremely pleased with the new version of the pigskin lining. It is outstanding!! The lining looks great and is super soft. Don't hesitate before making this purchase, you will fall in love.

happy birthday to me....happy birthday to me.....

I've purchased several SBL products for gifts but this was the first I've bought for ME!! I couldn't be happier with the bag, the construction and quality are top notch. I'm really happy with the carbon color as well! I originally was hoping to get the tobacco color but couldn't pass up the sale price on the carbon and now I want more! Thanks again for your dedication to quality work!

    They simply don't know...

I'm not sure how to start this review, i'm not sure if this is even a review... I come from a filson background, so believe me that none of the saddleback products seems heavy to me, it's simply because i'm used to the heavy materials found in filson bags... where i live and work at the moment, people are not used to saddleback leather...though they are filthy rich, when they want a leather briefcase, they will simply go to alfred dunhill, louis vuiton, mont blanc etc... so the idea of value simply doesn't exist in their heads...anyway, i received my dark coffe brown FP briefcase and took it out while anticipating what people will say about it...here are some real things i heard the first couple of days: 1- well...i don't know...ummm...it seems old....as if it belongs to your grandfather. 2-ohhh...but look at the scratches!!! did you see the scartches before buying it?!? 3-what's that awkward smell in your office?! 4-what!?!? you paid 500 USD for this?! Instead of hating my bag because of what people are saying, i honestly love it more now...what they dislike is exactly what i adore about my new bag... I think what mont blanc, dunhill, coach, ghurka etc. fails to bring forward is character...their briefcases are good looking but they don't have attitude, they don't have a story, they don't have character...

    Little Brother

Just ordered this in the Chestnut color. This will be the little brother to the large classic Briefcase I ordered from SB a couple of years ago. Looking forward to years of service.
