If you're anything like me (a little type A, I think), having things a "particular" way is good for the soul - gets your mind right, helps you operate a little more efficiently, and looks good in the process. Saddleback products have certainly supported many of my work and personal life habits in various, positive ways over the years.

When I saw this deck holder, I knew exactly why I needed it - and it wasn't for playing cards.

I bought a Tobacco Deck Holder at a point in my life where I was trying to be more disciplined in memorizing Scripture. I don't mean to be preachy... so I hope it doesn't come off that way. But I knew keeping God's Word in my mind and close to my heart was an important endeavor in my spiritual growth, but I wasn't doing a great job.

I was using generic note cards for memorization, but it just wasn't helping the way I had hoped (see comments on type A-ness above, perhaps). When I saw this deck holder, I knew I found the answer... much more superficial than Scripture or the Gospel, for sure, but an effective tool to help me towards a much richer goal.

I have been using my deck holder and some blank playing card sized cards for coming up on three years (Dec 2017) as a way to help memorize Bible verses. I write the verse on a blank playing card, keep the deck holder on my desk for quick retrieval (and a little reminder/encouragement now and again), and can even throw it in my Flight Bag to keep with me when I'm traveling.

This deck holder is super versatile - I'm sure there are endless uses for it. Or, you know, you could just use it for playing cards, I suppose...

I know it's just a little deck holder, but I knew having something like this would help fuel a really good habit - and it hasn't let me down. Neither has the Lord, by the way, in case you were wondering... :)

The question really is, how many leather items can I convince my wife that we need. I love this stuff. It is super fun to have this little card holder in my front pocket satchel. At work we can bring out the cards and play a couple of hands over lunch. Great purchase.

Super cute, durable and practical. Not much bulk to it so it’s in my bag daily. Cards come in handy more often than I would have thought!
