This is my second Saddleback bag and my favorite yet! I bought a dark coffee brown messenger bag in 2009 or 10. I loved the quality of the bag but I think I bought it because it was the bag I could afford rather than the bag I needed. I carried it some but soon passed it on to a friend that still carries it. Fast-forward to 2020. I have streamlined my needs (and my laptop!) and determined a Thirteener to be just the bag to bring me back into the fold. This was a big purchase for me, one to save up for, but when a Dave’s Deal came up on the bag I wanted there was no stopping me! Love the richness of the aptly-named Chestnut color. Love the couple of pockets for my charger and tools. Love the soft pocket for my laptop (a Dell Inspiron 13). And especially love the couple of extra seconds I spend enjoying the bag as I operate the buckle to open and close it. I’m sure it will eventually become mindless, but, for now, those extra moments in an otherwise fast-paced day are just the thing!
I love Christmas. I love getting together with family, celebrating the birth of Christ, eating with friends and family.....I love the smell of Christmas trees....but this year the Balsam fir smell took a second place to the Thirteener that we gave to our daughter. The perfect briefcase size for daily use - not too big, not too small - just right! And the feel and smell of the leather is an added bonus.
My wife and I are both PhDs in anthropology which demands a durable yet professional briefcase. Love the design, it’s the perfect inbetween-er, maybe that’s why you coined the term. I use it to haul the 12” iPad Pro and a Surface Pro work computer with both chargers. Just perfect, and the smell, well, it says it all!
