Excellent tablet/tiny laptop bag
I just migrated all of my gear from a Timbuk2 XS messenger bag, and the tablet back was able to contain everything—a pleasant surprise! Macbook 12” Retina, Samsung 9.7” tablet, 14k mAH NewTrent battery pack, a bunch of cables, eyeglass case, memory sticks, protien bar, tissues, notebook, pens, etc etc.
I love the new bag. It’s really an excellent piece of work.

Choosing between Laptop Bag, Hobo Crossbody Purse & Tablet Bag...
I was looking for something that had the classic look of the Saddleback briefcase or satchel, but was ideally under $200 with the coupon. For days I was actually trying to choose between the Laptop Bag and the Hobo Crossbody Purse but neither of them had Tobacco in stock, so I actually purchased the Tablet Bag as a third option - and man am I extremely glad I did!
Firstly, the size. It is slightly bigger than my Book Bag, so I actually see myself using the Tablet Bag more as a daytime bag and my Book Bag as a night-out bag. The Tablet Bag is the perfect size for carrying my everyday work and commuting essentials and I love that it has a front pocket AND an open back pocket. Keep in mind that I didn't actually purchase this bag to carry around a tablet or laptop, so if you are looking to carry around a specific gadget, you have to pay close attention to the bag's INTERIOR dimensions (8.25” H x 10.5” W x 2” D). My laptop will definitely not fit in it and I knew that when I bought it.
One qualm I had when I was considering the Hobo Crossbody Purse was about the length of the strap because I read many reviews that said it was way too long, and that it would unhook randomly. I'm about 5'2" and the length of the Tablet Bag strap is perfect for me when I wear it crossbody style - I shortened it so that it's buckled on the 20th hole, and about 5 inches of the strap hangs past the bag at that length but it doesn't bother me. The steel clasps of the strap are super secure so I don't think they will be unhooking randomly. The Tablet Bag is not as large or spacious inside as the Crossbody Purse so it cannot contain as much, but I can manage.
Next, the look. As mentioned earlier, I was looking for a bag that had elements of the classic Saddleback briefcase or satchel, while being practical enough for daily use. I was after the rugged Tobacco look, the secure front closure, and the top handle, to be specific - but I DEFINITELY did not want the weight that comes with the fuller-sized, manlier Saddlebacks. This Tablet bag itself is under 3 pounds, so it doesn't weigh me down. The construction is spectacular - perfect stitching, smooth but tough leather, gorgeous hue. The design of the top handle actually seems sturdier and more reinforced than the top handle of the Laptop Bag, which is weird considering the Laptop Bag is supposed to carry more weight.
Oh and the fact that this bag came with a shoulder pad was a pleasant surprise! I didn't think it would come with one because it wasn't pictured in the product photos or mentioned in the description, but I was so happy that it did!
Design Of The Front Pocket Leather Satchel
This leather satchel can also be called a Man Bag. And rightly so. It is over-engineered with no breakable parts like snaps, buttons, zippers, velcro, etc. Anywhere there is a stress point, it is reinforced with polyester straps and rivets. It's built with just two main pieces of leather, so there are fewer seams. And the stitching on this leather satchel is purposeful with only five stitches per inch, so there's as much leather as possible without it looking weird, so it won't be perforated and shortly tear. This satchel makes the most incredible Leather Tablet Bag.
Materials To Make The Coolest Leather Tablet Bag
The leather used in this satchel is full grain cowhide, which is the strongest and most durable type of leather available. The lining is made of pigskin, which is stronger than cowhide, and the thread is a marine-grade German Polyester thread that is UV resistant. The hardware is made of 316 Stainless Steel, which is the metal of choice when your life depends on it. You can not find the quality of materials used anywhere else.
Full Grain Leather
Our full grain cow leather is the strongest there is. And it's thicker than boot leather. It's not Top Grain or Genuine, but natural Full Grain leather. Low quality and life companies shave off their grain, the toughest and most resistant top part of the hide, to get rid of the natural marks of the cow, so they don't have to cut around them and throw so much leather away. They can use almost every bit of that hide.
Their target customer will shop by price rather than care about the critical information about the materials used. They are trying to reach the uneducated, those that will take less time to research quality before they order. To make our leather satchels, we must throw a lot of leather away because we refuse to shave the grain off. Imagine someone shaving the shingles off of your roof. They'd get arrested, and these people should be too.
Lining Of This Tablet Satchel
The pigskin lining is stronger than the cow skin, and that's why we use it to line our leather satchel instead of some pretty shiny nylon fabric with a neat world map on it.
Thread To Keep Your iPad Pro Safe
The thread is strangely strong. It's a marine grade UV resistant German thread made of Polyester. It's more expensive than all the other threads, but for a reason. When someone's life is on the line, you can depend on it. They sew parachutes, sails, and other important things with this thread. If your life ever depends on this leather satchel staying together, you'll live to tell that story because of this thread.
The Best Hardware
Our hardware is custom, and it's overkill. People who know told me it's unnecessary, and we're wasting money using 316 Stainless Steel, but I tell them that we have never once had a problem with our hardware. It's the metal of choice when your life depends on it.

This leather tablet bag, or leather iPad bag, depending on your preference for Apple products, or android products, will protect your device just as well. It's big enough to fit an iPad Pro and several other items. As a full grain leather man bag, it will help you have a place for all your stuff, so you don't have to load your pockets down or have your wife carry everything in her leather purse or tote.
The straps are adjustable, so you can make it as tight or loose as you want.
I chose a buckle closure to be able to overstuff (with a hole at the very tip of the strap, just in case). Or you can put it at the tip of the leather satchel to secure an umbrella under the flap but over the main compartment. And the front pocket under the flap is fantastic for keeping things separate.
