Design
This leather wallet was designed to stack cards in both slots therefore eliminating the thickness of a layer of leather between the cards. You can stack 5 or 6 cards in each slot as the leather stretches. And the two card slots are on opposing sides to the wallet will be flat and even when folded. And it is narrow and slim enough to fit in the front pocket. And in between the lining and the cow skin, and just like with our medium leather bifold wallet, we put a layer of Radio Frequency ID (RFID) blocking material to block bad people from scanning your wallet and stealing your identification off your credit cards. It happens all day long. Google it.

Materials
This wallet is constructed with full-grain leather and nothing less. Let me explain. A hide of leather is like a roof. A roof is thick, but it's the thinner top layer shingles that keep the water and dirt out and protect the inside. The tough "shingles" of leather is the grain on the top layer of the hide. But a lot of low level bottom dwelling leather wallet manufacturers shave off the top layer with all of the scars so they can use all of the leather and don't have to cut out the scars and throw the away. It's pure business. But in doing so, they're shaving the shingles off of your house. How stupid is that? They neuter the leather and take away its leatherhood. The toughness it's known for. We only use leather that has the full amount of grain (full grain). When they remove some of the grain, the leather is called top grain leather. When they remove ALL of the grain, it's called genuine or split leather. And they do it just to save leather while taking away the strength, durability and water resistance of the hide. Leather isn't cheap and they don't want to lose the profit from throwing away the leather that has scars and marks on it. They just sand or split it off. It's why this full grain leather bifold wallet is so expensive.

Lining
Instead of using a thin shiny and pretty nylon fabric, we line this leather wallet with pigskin, which is tougher than the cow leather. It's how we can offer a 100-year Warranty.
---
Thread
And then we sewed it with the incredible marine-grade polyester continuous filament thread. Trust me. It's strong and resistant. It's what ship sails and parachutes are made with. If your life depends on it, use this thread.

Leather
The reason bank tellers and cashiers will compliment you on this leather wallet is because Full Grain leather ages way more nicely because it still has all of the pores on it. Lesser leathers had the pores removed so oils and dirt can't set in.

I have never been into leather goods other needing a wallet and a belt. I would usually just go to a chain store and buy the cheapest leather product that fit my needs. Recently I paid $10 to replace my debit card for the fifth time in eight years. I also had to replace my Illinois FOID card (major inconvenience) at the same time. Tired of my cheap wallets destroying my cards a friend recommended Saddleback Leather to me. I was rather hesitant as I've probably not spent this much money on my last five wallets. After having the wallet for a month, I am very happy with my purchase. The wallet took some timed breaking in and it is now starting to develop a little character. I'm certain my cards are going to fine. I really like looking at my new leather wallet, and I enjoy showing it off too!

I purchased this product as a gift for my boyfriend a year and a half ago. I was having issues with international ordering, so I called Saddleback, and the girls I spoke to were wonderfully helpful. I chose the Tobacco colour, and when it arrived it was like a brand new baseball glove, a nice tan colour, and very stiff. The wallet polished very well over time, and now has a glossy, deep brown colour (I would recommend the Tobacco Colour to anyone interested, as it will change to a richer, natural leather colour), and is buttery soft, there's no denying that it's great quality! It's obviously able to withstand a lot of use and abuse, after 18 months of daily use, the bifold wallet has withstood everything (even an accidental soaking of ink), and no issues have ever come up (what couldn't be washed off eventually polished out, and the wallet looks 100% normal). The only downfall? We're Canadian, and the wallet is just slightly too small for Canadian bills; they stick out of the top. I would suggest a larger wallet, simply to fit Canadian money.

I stumbled upon this awesome company just a few weeks ago when browsing the internet for a "good leather wallet" and let me tell you, the people that recommended this on various sites/forums were not lying. I told my parents to get me this small bifold wallet since I was struggling to think of a Christmas gift idea that they could get me that wouldn't break the bank. I opened this (knowingly) on Christmas and was still amazed at how great this is. Holds all my cards I need (debit, credit, gym card, drivers, and gun permit) and should hold 10-12 bills comfortably. I rarely carry cash so this small size is great for me. The quality is excellent and the smell is great. I see why they say "they'll fight over it when you're dead" for their products. I love it! On a side note, I have since ordered the Simple Leather Tote for my mother and the Medium Bifold Wallet as well to compare to the small to see which I prefer. All are excellent quality and the small fits my needs better - not many cards, rarely carry cash.

This little guy is the perfect wallet for my needs.love the slimness of this wallet, but also enjoy the idea that I can carry around cash with me without folding it up into bits like many small wallets have us do.have 5 cards and around 7 bills in it now,it remains slim without that extra bulk to haul around.the quality of the leather and stitching is again second to none.the tobacco brown color is rustic and will age perfectly, there is even a brand or gorge spot on it where the cow had a long day.just adds to the special character of saddleback goods.just a perfect smaller version of the medium bifold, but still built tough.very happy with my new addition to a growing saddleback collection.great stuff!

My last wallet gave way a few months ago, and I persevered, with cards falling out through holes in the card slots, as I searched for the be-all-end-all of wallets. I think - I know - I found it. As I sit here waiting for a flight home from two long work days traveling away from home, and missing my family, I looked at this wallet on the table as I was waiting for my check after a late airport meal. The wallet is simple, rugged, durable, minimal and there's something iconic about it. It feels and looks like something that is only going to get better with time. The Saddleback slogan "They'll fight over it when your dead" resonated with me, and probably impacted my purchase decision. As a new Dad, I don't know if my kids are going to see my wallet as something to fight over, but I hope they see it as something that has always been; that indestructible piece of leather that had Dad's character - like the rock of the family. I look forward to the transformation of this simple piece of leather as it endures over time. The creases, dents, and wear that will develop, to me, will tell a story more than any picture could.
