We finally received the old fashioned wooden shoe trees from Italy that are custom made to perfectly fit the Officers Boots, Wingtip and Toe Cap Shoes that are formed on the 1st Generation of the twisted Munson Last. Why Use Shoe Trees?
Keeps The Shoe's Shape - It helps preserve the shape of the last, particularly important with high quality structured shoes like our Officers Boot, Wingtip and Toe Cap Shoes.
Pulls Moisture Out Of The Shoe - Feet produce a lot of moisture, but our shoes are all leather, so they breathe. But, we have a lot of leather in there with our lining and insoles, so we keep the shoe trees natural and unpolished so it can absorb some of that moisture.
Reduces Ugly Creasing - The shoe tree doesn't eliminate creasing, because leather shoes are supposed to flex. But it keeps the creases from becoming sharply folded and deeply set.
Helps Leather Recover - After a day's wear, the leather is warm, moist and compressed. Putting the shoe tree in while the shoe is still warm allows the leather to relax around the tree.
Makes Cleaning and Polishing Easier - The bespoke shoe tree gives you a firm surface behind the leather to make it much easier to clean and polish.
How Often Should I Use a Shoe Tree? - Every time you wear the shoes. After wearing them, insert the shoe tree shortly afterwards and keep them in there until the next wearing. You can leave it in there for a long time. A lot of people recommend wearing a high quality dress shoe one day and then letting it rest for 24 hours with the shoe tree in it to give it time to recover and dry out, especially in wet weather.
