This wallet was constructed with full-grain leather. Let me explain why that's so important. Leather is like a roof. You have the wood decking and then the shingles. The grain of the leather is the 25% of the top layer of the hide and is the strongest, most resistant to stains and water and has the densest tightly woven leather fibers of the leather. It's like the shingles on the roof. Without the grain, the roof will leak because the wood beneath it will resist, but not for long. The top layer of the leather also has all of the marks of the life of the cow.&&So, the low quality leather wallet companies shave off the scars so they will not have to cut around the scars and therefore save money by using almost every square inch of the hide. I bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves it. When I got the wallet it felt sloppily packed. There was a receipt sticker half stuck on it, still had factory dust on the wallet and the creditcard slots where clued togetter. I needed to give it a clean up and open up the credit card slots before I could give the wallet to my husband. I didn't expect vancy presentation box or anything like that, but the presentation still felt like letdown (to reasons mentioned above). The wallet was in a small green degradable bag with note explaining that it was in that to save the trees in the forest. But the note was written on paper, so if you actually wanted to save the forests you would had left the self-prasing note out. It is a good wallet, but I feel it's little bit over priced for what it is.

Beautiful Wallet

The leather feels great, and together with the stitching, I really feel that this is going to last. It's beautiful, and I'm genuinely interested in how it's going to look with some miles on it. The dark coffee color is my favorite, and I'll be buying more in that color. My only complaint is that my bills stick to the inside a little, but I know that will wear off.
