Beautiful backpack, great customer service
Ordered for myself as a Christmas gift, came in a day early. It has a scar in one corner and one pocket was not tumbled as the other one. I contacted the customer service and they wanted to see the photos. It's not a big problem but I was expecting the backpack to be without scars and leather being tumbled uniformly. They offered me a 20% discount and I took it. Great company and product so will see how it holds.

Long time SBL fan here. In my opinion this backpack is a huge jump for them! it's a little bit lighter than most of their other backpacks which I know is a leading negative for many folks. the tumbled leather is so delightful! The bag is supple the day you get it! unlike their traditional leather which can still be stiff after years of use. Having a laptop sleeve has greatly increased usability. the side pockets are helpful for internal organization or if you fold the flap in its a regular bottle pocket. This bag has more volume than you think. also the tumbled leather greatly improves the tube pads as they readily conform to your shoulders without wrinkling and creating pressure points (I put some rubber bands on the straps to keep the pads from sliding around on me)

Simplicity and Style
I've owned many Saddleback products over the years, but this is my first backpack. I must admit that I wasn't sure which one to go for, but after some extensive research I opted for this guy. The design is simple yet very effective. I have used the backpack for the last couple of weeks as our daily carry during a family vacation to Disney World and trust me, it's been put through its paces. I've been packing several changes of clothes, water bottles, snacks etc and it's never been full. It's definitely heavier than a nylon backpack, but once you throw it over your shoulder with those padded straps it feels really comfortable. I've walked miles with this thing and my back and shoulders are totally fine. And one last thing....you will get compliments about the bag so be prepared. Nice job on this one, Dave!

Great backpack
This is great for traveling. I have used it on a few trips already. I packed a vest, 3 jeans, 3 shorts, 3 long sleeve shirts, 4 short sleeve shirts, socks, and underwear. It was a tight fit but everything fit in the backpack. Definitely recommend this for traveling or daily use.

This is the one
The simplicity is where it's at. Many of my bags and packs have too many pockets. I can't find anything. This one keeps things simple and it's also the right size. The only thing that would make it better is if Dave and Suzette had signed it. Maybe when we do the Mexico tour!
