Design

The Leather Drawstring Backpack is designed to be simple, yet functional. The inside is super spacious, there's a built in laptop sleeve that fits up to a 16" MacBook Pro, and it has the most unique side pockets I've ever seen on a bag. The same pocket is accessible from the inside and outside of the backpack. When empty The backpack straps are adjustable to fit any size frame and come with leather tubes for a more comfortable carry on your shoulders. The tumbled leather is tough as nails, but still supple and feels broken in already. This is arguably the most comfortable backpack I've designed and carried.

A Drawstring Closure That is Easy to Open and Close

When the leather drawstring is completely extended, the top of the bag can be opened up really wide, so it's easy to dig through and find what you need. Once you're done, just cinch the leather drawstring closure back tight, then fold the top flap over and buckle it down. This also acts as a double security feature for your 16" Leather Drawstring Backpack.

Leather Lined with Pigskin

I wanted to keep this leather backpack as lightweight as possible, so it's only lined where the bag needs extra reinforcement and structure. This adds strength to the leather drawstring backpack since pigskin is stronger than leather. These are all factors we considered in designing the best leather drawstring backpack.

Fits a 16" MacBook and More

The Leather Drawstring Backpack will hold everything you need for a busy day or a short trip. You can fit up to a 16" MacBook or 16" Laptop in the built-in laptop sleeve and still have plenty of room to fit all your other daily essentials. The main compartment is spacious enough to fit an overnight trip worth of clothes, so the 16" Drawstring makes for a perfect carry-on.

Double Layered Adjustable Shoulder Straps

The leather drawstring backpack adjustable shoulder straps are double-layered and have 15 holes for a variety of adjustment points. This double layering will add extra strength, so you won't have a problem.

Rolled Full Grain Leather Top Carry Handle

When you carry this backpack as a leather bag, you want it to be comfortable in your hand. So the top carry handle is made with comfort in mind. We rolled it, so it's soft and fits naturally in your hands. The way all leather bags should be. Throw it on your back easily, or carry it by the handle; both choices are comfortable and stylish.

    Great backpack

    This is great for traveling. I have used it on a few trips already. I packed a vest, 3 jeans, 3 shorts, 3 long sleeve shirts, 4 short sleeve shirts, socks, and underwear. It was a tight fit but everything fit in the backpack. Definitely recommend this for traveling or daily use.

    This is the one

    The simplicity is where it's at. Many of my bags and packs have too many pockets. I can't find anything. This one keeps things simple and it's also the right size. The only thing that would make it better is if Dave and Suzette had signed it. Maybe when we do the Mexico tour!

    Finally!

    Hi. I took advantage of my membership and bought this bag that I’ll used for a Trip that is coming up to Italy. I tittle the review with finally, cause this bag is the perfect size for what I’ll be using it but also it has the perfect weight. Finally got a Saddlebag Leather bag that is spacious but also is light. I’m still figuring out the pockets and what can be taken out of them. I other words how wide is the opening. I had been practicing with it using it as a daily carry. Is a great bag and I shouldn’t have to say it but is Saddlebag Leather quality. Thanks Dave for such a wonderful creation…

    16 ‘ in tumbled leather backpack

    Ok Dave you hit it out of the park on this one . It’s so beautiful, soft and velvety . My favorite part is the access to the pockets inside and out of the this gorgeous backpack . Its functionality is phenomenal . Thank you for this design . As always the quality is second to none .

    16” Drawstring

    This is not my first Saddleback purchase, however, it is my first review. In typical fashion (the pun haha) quality is second to none. I am transitioning from a GORUCK GR1 that’s been my EDC for 5 years and with a simple wash, looks new again. However, it doesn’t always look the most subdued or professional, so it will transition to a go bag. I digress… This pack when they say rough and tumble…you got it! It feels stout with a good weight in hand. The buckles of course being over built 316 stainless add a weight of quality and make lovely old school sounds. The pack feels so supple and the texture is almost suede like it’s so buttery soft. Not a stitch outta place so typical of Saddleback. This pack is my new EDC so it will have medical, large work portfolio (guess who), H2O, rain jacket, journal, cap, ahem Mexican blanket ahem…, pocket Constitution, list goes on. Fit, Form, Function. Fabulous. This pack makes a simple trip to work or the market feel like the rusty roads of the path less traveled. An adventure! Dave and Team, God Bless, here’s to many more years of adventures!
