a classy, rugged, and comfortable belt...

I ordered a black 1 1/2 inch Old Bull Belt in size 32 and I am fascinated by the excellent quality. It is constructed from an impressively thick piece of leather, but it is still quite flexible and very comfortable to wear. The design is reassuringly rugged, visually stunning, and practical for everyday use. I followed the size chart given on the website and the belt fit perfectly. I highly recommend this belt.

Call Customer Service to have them verify your size!

I could feel the quality when I unboxed this belt. However, I was disappointed when the sizing was off. My advice is to check your size, check it again, and then call customer service to have them verify that the size you're considering is correct. Don't end up with a belt that doesn't fit!

    Buy one size smaller

I just bought a 32” Old Bull Belt (1 1/2”) in dark coffee brown. It is an amazing belt that looks to last the full 100 years if properly cared for. It is only a hint darker than chestnut and without the reddish hue. 5/5 star quality, service, and shipping from Saddleback Leather Co: simply the best. However, I have had quite a time finding the right size. Apparently, the 34” belt is abnormally long and not at all 34”. In fact, I have a 34” chestnut tow belt (which I have dubbed “The Anaconda” because of the way it constricts when I try to take the thing off; it is very, very thick) that I can only wear by using the very last hole, leaving a comic length of belt sticking out to one side. So after no small amount of frustration, I ordered the above mentioned 32” OBB (Old Bull Belt 1 1/2”), and it fit! I can now proudly and properly display my fashionable Saddleback belt by using the middle hole as intended. In short: it is my humble recommendation that the reader order a size smaller than usual (i.e. if one has a 34” waist, order the 32” belts). In any case, be sure to talk with a customer service representative first; they are an excellent resource to help you find the right size. My only wish is for Saddleback Leather Co. to dispel any confusion by advertising the belts by their actual sizes (the average reader can stop here). I measured the belts and came up with the following numbers: The 34” tow belt is actually a whopping 42” long, not including the buckle (which, by the way, is about 2” long, sticking out only 1 1/2” before it overlaps with the leather. So 42 + 1.5 = about a 43.5” long belt including the buckle). Using just the length of the leather, without buckle, the holes are made at approximately 34” (very last hole), 37” (middle hole), and 40” (first hole), respectively. That translates into me wearing the very last hole as I am a 34” waist. Now the 32” OBB is actually 40” long (just the leather; with buckle, maybe 41.5”). Using just the length of the leather, without buckle, the holes are drilled at approximately 32” (very last hole), 35” (middle hole), and 38” (first hole), meaning I can wear the belt using the middle hole (since I'm a 34” waist). However, if I was truly a 32” waist (that was ten years ago!), I would have to order a 30” belt (if there was one), or I would look very silly! Again, I wish Saddleback Leather Co. would advertise their belts according to actual size. I do not know how they currently measure their belts, but it sure is frustrating at best and deceptive at worst. Now, I have to return the 34” belt...

    Too thick. Very uncomfortable.

This is a quality belt, and it's obviously well built, but it's a poor design. The leather is far to thick to fit through any of my Levi's comfortably. I really want to like this, but it's just a bad design. Off to eBay.

    Buy it!

So I just received my Texas made Old Bull Belt in DCB.... All I can say is WOW. Don't be surprised if like me, you notice this thing is twice as thick as your other belts. It seems as though it'll surely last a life time. You just might outgrow it before it wears out. I bought mine from Dave's Deals, but will gladly pay full retail price for another one in a different color... They are that nice. If you're tired of wearing "trash belts," you need one of these. I highly doubt you'll write a review saying otherwise. Thanks Dave.
