    A Belt!

Just like every product from Saddleback Leather that I own, this item is beautiful, and it's obvious that it is extremely well crafted from top quality leather. As long as it doesn't stretch too much, this will probably be the last casual belt that I ever have to buy. I LOVE that Dave crafted the belt in a way that allows us to change the buckle, however, it is pretty difficult to take the screws off especially without scrapping the heck out of the leather in the front. What happens is, the part visible from the front that the screw screws into has no traction, so it just turns and turns. So, in order to get the screw off you have to use something like needle-nose pliers to grab the front part while you turn the screw in the back. This will inevitably scratch up the leather in the front. If this issue was fixed, this would be the perfect belt.

Strong enough for a bull made for a man

I've been buying Saddleback products for 5 or 6 years now. Consistent with everyone else, I'm always greatly satisfied. I'm a 6ft 300lb 42-44inch waist guy that is always harsh on pants, belts and wallets. I own Saddleback leather products in two of those three categories. I've had the Old Bull Belt for about 18 months now. I got it for Christmas, 2012. The only differences between when it was new and now is that it has a slight curve (a-la my belly) and it's not quite as stiff as it once was. I wear this thing EVERY DAY. It is rock solid. I still have a hard time believing there was an animal out there with hide this thick. I brag on it constantly and show it off to anyone who doesn't think it weird that I'm taking my belt off. Like I said, I'm very tough on belts, I may yet take Dave up on his 100 year warranty, however, when that day comes (not anytime soon BTW), It'll be a tough decision between sending it back or framing it and purchasing another.

    Chestnut Color is Beautiful

The Old Bull belt is as good as all the other reviewers say it is. It's thick, quality leather. My previous "genuine leather" belt cannot compare to the Old Bull belt. I do have two cautions. First, the Dark Coffee Brown color is very dark. I ordered one, and when I received it I thought it was black. Customer service said that the thick leather often tans very dark. I returned because it was so dark it was unusable as a brown belt. I then tried the chestnut color, and I love it. It's a beautiful color. It has enough of a brown tint to be used as a brown belt, and it will age beautifully. The second caution is about size. Dave says to order your waist size, but I recommend measuring your current belt and seeing which Old Bull size will fit you. It will likely be your waist size. But these belt run a bit short. Since I'm between sizes, I needed to order a size up. I am very happy will my Chestnut Old Bull Belt.

    One hell of a belt

Interesting story... Bought this belt last month and it may have saved my life. I was walking around the streets of Philly the other night with my girlfriend when I was confronted by a homeless man with a knife. I was more concerned about the girl I was with, she was wearing high heels and was in no condition to run or really defend herself. Had I been alone, I think I would have just jumped him or ran off. So I complied and started to reach for my pocket to get my wallet when all of a sudden, he makes a move toward the girl I was with. Without a thought, I went for my belt (The Old Bull) and whipped it off. It was almost like a scene from Indiana Jones with his whip. When I did, it cracked so loud that the man jumped back and was physically shaken. I looked at him, clutching the belt in my hand ready to beat the hell out of him if he tried it again. Instead, he stood there and said, "I think I've made a mistake, please don't call the police." He started walking away, and I called the police. Loooking back, I don't doubt this belt could have done some serious damage to that guy. it's solid, looks good, and will last me forever. Hopefully I won't have many more stories like this but knowing my luck, I probably will. This belt will be there though to make sure they all have happy endings! >=)
