    Great customer service!!

So this is a weird deal. I originally bought the large front pocket breifcase on Amazon. Got the bag and loved it. After a week I was rearranging the bag and noticed that the side rivets were popping out as if they were never fully fastened. I was able to easily pull them apart, and obviously the side pocket separated without rivets to hold it in place. I contacted Saddleback and the outstanding customer service took care of me immediatly. They informed me that they have recently had similar issues with bags ordered from Amazon. They believe that Amazon somehow got their hands on bags that didn't make it through Saddle back Q.C. I had a new bag in my hands in under 24 hrs. I was able to send the defective bag back to Amazon without a hitch (at least as of yet, haven't been refunded yet). So moral of the story is just buy directly from SBL. Caveat emptor with Amazon. 5 star for SBL customer service and the bag.

    Love it!

Love this briefcase. Craftsmanship, beauty, feel, smell, even the sound it makes when you set it down. This is the real deal. Simply a joy to use everyday.

    Fantastic product, fantastic company. 5/5

Now that I've had this briefcase for 8 months, I can confidently say I made a great choice. The leather has held up all the way around and is seemingly breaking in well. The main compartment was originally a very tight squeeze with my 17.3" widescreen laptop workstation, but it has stretched out just enough to allow it to slide in easily. No signs of this creasing the bag which is what I was worried about. The straps are all holding up well, however I wish the main flap were cut a bit shorter. Unless you fully loaded both pockets with as much as they can carry, you can't necessarily snug the flap down as tight as I'd like. I got the Chestnut color which has darkened up beautifully. Used conditioner on it a few weeks ago and it did not ruin the color. Great work, Saddleback team!

"The Best Jerry The Best" Seinfeld

This is the best bag that I have ever owned. I have used Coach, Wenger and other leather briefcases. This one not only looks great but with the strap that can be used as a backpack its awesome! One of the other things is that you will need to oil it to break it in (this reminded me of when I got my first real leather baseball mitt and had to oil it and put it under my bed). Once oiled and used a bit this bag is soft to the touch but with the thick leather is holds is shape. Everywhere I go now people ask me about my new bag. I have already ordered the complete desk set for my office, it's on back order but I cant wait. keep up the good work.

    Visually stunning, functionally disappointing

I've been using the Front Pocket Briefcase daily, for approximately 15 months now. The bag looks great. Unfortunately, I continue to be disappointed with the overall function and design of the bag beyond the aesthetic. The bag is not balanced properly. The design of the shoulder strap and where it attaches to the bag forces the bag over time to become very lopsided. The top grab handle in incorrectly placed too far back on the top flap causing the bag to top forward when picking it up. The "backpack" function of the strap system, while an interesting thought is not something that I would ever use and therefore the buckle and entire form of the shoulder strap is a hindrance to daily use as this is cumbersome and rigid. Just replacing the strap one from another brand made the bag significantly more comfortable to wear. However that now affects the great aesthetic as the other strap does not match the bag. I recommend that SBL offer a single piece strap as an option to resolve this issue
