    Perfect size

Perfect size bag for my needs. Bigger than the thin front pocket briefcase and smaller than the classic. Holds my computer, notepad holder, charges, day planner and a book. Love the Chestnut on this bag.

    A Saddleback Convert

I spent a lot of time looking at competitors and wrestled with saving a couple shekels versus getting "the real thing". Ultimately I pulled the trigger and could not be more pleased, thus far it's been to London, York and Edinburgh in the UK for leisure and Shanghai, Fuzhou and most of the Fujian province in China on business trips. A few notes on the briefcase itself, a 13in laptop (in my case a dell XPS 13 fits in either the front sleeve or the divider area within the main storage compartment of the briefcase. In addition a 15in laptop (dell XPS 15) fits with the main area of the briefcase but not in the front sleeve and not in the divider area. Honestly things do get a little bit tight if you've got a 15in laptop in the main area in addition to tablet, chargers, cords, noise canceling headphones etc but it is doable. Bottom line is it's bulletproof, it ages beautifully the more you use and carry it and I'm already eyeing additional Saddleback purchases.

    Perfect Briefcase/Day bag

This is probably the best leather bag I've purchased from Saddleback..Great design with simple yet distinct look! Tobacco color is excellent as time goes by. By the way, great customer service when I was waiting for a stock.

    Perfect briefcase

After two years of agonizing over which SBL briefcase was right for me, I took the plundge and bought the slim laptop briefcase. It is perfect! All my stuff fits in nicely with no room to spare. Everything you need and nothing you don't! The colour (tobacco) is better in person than it shows on the website. I was worried that it wouldn't stand up on it's own but it does sit upright full or empty. The construction is solid and it even has the key holder tab which is not shown on the website pictures. I love this briefcase and I'm sure it will be my only one for the rest of my life...then my kids can fight over it lol.

    Suggestions

I'd venture to say that 90%+ of the buyers of this bag work in Corporate America (vs. drilling water wells for indigenous peoples, or finding the Ark of the Covenant). And likely 60%+ travel a fair bit, and therefore need a good briefcase. Starting there, I'd recommend: - Downsize this bag just a slight bit. I have a 13" MacBook Pro, and my SBL choices are a 15" wide bag, or a 10-11" wide bag. - Put a simpler buckle on the front of the bag. It takes two hands to operate the buckle, and unless the bag is overstuffed, the leather end of the buckle hangs below the bottom of the bag. - The shoulder strap is huge, and fairly unworkable. Unless you have it rigged up as the backpack (which a corporate type would just about never do), the strap length as a shoulder strap leaves over a foot of leather strap hanging in space, and getting in the way of everything. The strap also significantly adds to the weight of the bag. - Reinforce the handle to make it horizontally rigid. As is, the handle pulls your fingers down on either side. Think of how easy it is to grab a rigid bar to lift something, vs. those plastic grocery bags full of stuff, that crush your index and little fingers. Don't get me wrong - I love the bag in so many ways. Hope this feedback helps in your design process.
