Beautiful Leather. Underwhelming pieces.
This is amazing leather work. The chess board, piece bags, and carrying case are all incredibly well made and the reason I still gave this set 4 stars. The pieces, on the other had, are a joke for a set at this price point. They are small and unweighted, nothing like the pieces in the video. It is unfortunate that after spending almost $300 for this set I will likely have to replace the pieces relatively soon (I don't even think they would stay put in any wind at a park or campsite). I think they should either reduce the price of this set or get better pieces. I am excited to use this board, I think it will last a very long time and it is very well made, I just wish the pieces were of the same quality.

I purchased the leather travel
I purchased the leather travel chess set for my son’s birthday. I taught him to play chess at an early age. (Used to let him win to boost his confidence). Now, he destroys my confidence because he beats me quite often. He deserves to have a great travel leather set like this to bring along on his travels. He loves it. I was so excited about the set I bought one for myself. Very pleased and impressed about the quality of the leather board and the chess pieces. Highly recommend the set for all chess aficionados. (fancy word, huh).
