Design
This leather wallet was designed to stack cards in both slots therefore eliminating the thickness of a layer of leather between the cards. You can stack 5 or 6 cards in each slot as the leather stretches. And the two card slots are on opposing sides to the wallet will be flat and even when folded. And it is narrow and slim enough to fit in the front pocket. And in between the lining and the cow skin, and just like with our medium leather bifold wallet, we put a layer of Radio Frequency ID (RFID) blocking material to block bad people from scanning your wallet and stealing your identification off your credit cards. It happens all day long. Google it.

Materials
This wallet is constructed with full-grain leather and nothing less. Let me explain. A hide of leather is like a roof. A roof is thick, but it's the thinner top layer shingles that keep the water and dirt out and protect the inside. The tough "shingles" of leather is the grain on the top layer of the hide. But a lot of low level bottom dwelling leather wallet manufacturers shave off the top layer with all of the scars so they can use all of the leather and don't have to cut out the scars and throw the away. It's pure business. But in doing so, they're shaving the shingles off of your house. How stupid is that? They neuter the leather and take away its leatherhood. The toughness it's known for. We only use leather that has the full amount of grain (full grain). When they remove some of the grain, the leather is called top grain leather. When they remove ALL of the grain, it's called genuine or split leather. And they do it just to save leather while taking away the strength, durability and water resistance of the hide. Leather isn't cheap and they don't want to lose the profit from throwing away the leather that has scars and marks on it. They just sand or split it off. It's why this full grain leather bifold wallet is so expensive.

Lining
Instead of using a thin shiny and pretty nylon fabric, we line this leather wallet with pigskin, which is tougher than the cow leather. It's how we can offer a 100-year Warranty.
---
Thread
And then we sewed it with the incredible marine-grade polyester continuous filament thread. Trust me. It's strong and resistant. It's what ship sails and parachutes are made with. If your life depends on it, use this thread.

Leather
The reason bank tellers and cashiers will compliment you on this leather wallet is because Full Grain leather ages way more nicely because it still has all of the pores on it. Lesser leathers had the pores removed so oils and dirt can't set in.

I bought this after having a Tyvek paper wallet for years that I liked. I've had numerous others and hated most of them. The paper wallet was weird and held my stuff for 5 years. It finally died and I didn't want to compromise anymore. I have lusted after Saddleback leather for years but always hesitated due to price. I pulled the trigger a month ago. It's everything I hoped. This wallet is very slim, soft, and holds cash, and 4-6 cards no problem. I refuse to use anything but a bifold wallet, and I'll be buried with this one. It's the perfect wallet. The details, texture, and feel are fantastic. This further solidified my resolve to save up for the thin briefcase.

I just bought the Small Tobacco Bifold and I couldn't be more pleased. I've used Saddleback before and have been meaning to buy a wallet for a couple of years and finally pulled the trigger. Let me just say thanks to Dave and the rest of the Saddleback team for their attention to quality and detail. This wallet I'm holding in my hand is top notch leather with excellent thickness and stitching. It's breaking in nicely after only three days and is already aging beautifully like a fine wine. To anyone who may read this review to aid his or her decision, my advice is go for it. This product is absolutely worth the money. I'll be a customer for life! - Ethan

I received my small bifold a few day ago. My medium size wallet was stolen which contained everything. I felt stupid and targeted. I got a police case number and made phone calls and online notifications to protect my identity. Saddleback is an awesome company with excellent leather product and outstanding customer service. The small bifold is perfect as I now carry the wallet in the front pocket.

I have been shopping with Saddleback since 2009 and own the following Products: Org. Leather - Classic briefcase (Chestnut) - Passport Wallet (Black) - Small Bi-fold Wallet (Tobacco) - Medium Bi-fold Wallet (Dark Brown) - Large Bi-fold (Chestnut) - Tow Belt (Black) - Accessory Totes (Chestnut & Tobacco) - iPhone 5 case (Black) New Leather Small Bi-fold Wallet (Carbon) ***this review*** For those new to Saddleback Leather, this is a well made wallet that will outlast any of the name brands out there for sure. The Carbon color is a nice mellow black that shows some brown hues but it is not at all a brown. The wallet takes time to break in, and you will need to use it for months and months before it is completely broken in. You can speed the break in process with various softening/conditioning products that are mentioned on this site and around the web if you chose. Now for those who have shopped at Saddleback over the years, this wallet is very good but when comparing it to my older wallets here are the changes and my comments. 1. The leather is thinner, not by a huge amount but it is definitely a less bulky wallet. 2. The Pig skin (leather) is much, much more supple the previous pig skin. The old version always seemed very tough and coated with something that never really allowed it too break in naturally. 3. The new leather is also much more supple as compared to the org. leather. I am under the impression that this is mainly due to the reduction in thickness vs. any difference in the leather quality. 4. The pig skin (leather) lining is only on one side of the billfold. This bothers me as it seems like a revenue / margin tacit. I also think it makes the billfold appear 1/2 done as compared to my older ones. Summary, I like the wallet very much. Particularly the new carbon color as compared to the 'old' black which was well..very, very black. I also like the reduction in thickness too and do not believe this impacts the overall durability in any meaningful way. I am disappointed with the pig lining only being on one side of the bill-fold which I DO think is more about per unit cost savings vs. anything else. I rate this a four out of five stars, which would have been a five star rating except for the pig skin lining issue that has triggered my OCD.

Hey everyone, Waited a long time for these wallets to come, there were some shipping mixups but finally got them to Dubai. These wallets are amazing. Well built, simple design. They will serve the purpose and more. Ordered one in coffee brown, one in chestnut. The coffee brown has a smoother finish with a shine to it, and the chestnut has a slightly weathered feel. The coffee came with less blemishes and natural marks than the chestnut. Slimmer than I expected, which is good. The small bi-folds are the perfect size if you are into traveling light. All in all, a great job by SBL and would not only love to buy more products but would also order another set of these wallets. Keep in mind that this is sensitive leather to markings and scratches unless you keep a leather milk set around. Well done SBL and will put up a full video review on YouTube soon. Thanks !! Ray
