    Quality but quirky

I owned the original version of the wallet for around 2 years, but lost it recently at a gas station and decided to replace it, as I loved it so much. This is an updated version. It is a bit longer which makes it easier to remove cash and cards, which I like. It takes up a bit more space, but still is thin enough for my front pocket where I also carry my phone. The size is ideal. However, the price increased from the last version by 35 dollars. You do get the best quality and I believe I will get $70 out of this product, and you may as well. But it comes with a wallet carrying case that is almost entirely useless and uses much more leather than the wallet itself. The strap, if wrapped around one's arm, holds the case open. It can't secure a thing. I can find no use for this case and yet it is the sole reason the wallet has doubled in price. I am irritated with Saddleback for barely changing a product and adding an unnecessary product that I did not ask for, nor can I use in any way.

Amazing wallet and will last you forever

Going on four years now with this wallet and still in perfect condition. One thing to note: if you have a credit card in the front pocket it will eventually show the numbers through the leather to the front. If you don't mix up cards you can expect to have your primary credit card's number permanently ingrained into the wallet.

    Not quite what I needed

I was really hoping I could slim down my wallet because I've been wearing it in my front pocket for ten years anyway, but unfortunately even after finding phone apps that allowed me to get rid of some cards, I'm still not able to comfortably switch to this as a daily carry. I really wish I could, because I love the thing. As a product I'm still going to give it 4 stars. Not 5 stars since I seriously doubt You can carry 12 cards even after you break it in. Right now, putting 1 card in each slot, one card in the ID window, and two cards behind it (for a total of 5) I am afraid I will damage the cards because they're all rounded. Of course the wallet is new, so I'm keeping old cards in there and try to break it in and we'll see how that goes. Even then, I'll need a couple more slots to carry cards I hope to never have to use (health card + donor card, which you should always carry in the event of an emergency). The good thing though, that really forced me to think twice about every single card so even though THIS may not be the perfect product, I think I am now light enough to go from my "butterfly" type bi-fold to the medium bi-fold wallet... if I could know for sure it won't damage my cards. It's a shame I just had a family member visit me from the U.S. and bring this as a gift, because now I'll have to pay for shipping to Canada on my replacement bi-fold.

    Almost 4 years later...

I was referred to Saddleback Leather by a friend in late 2012 when the brand new $80 front pocket Tumi wallet I purchased ripped into peaces as I tried to put my cards into it. On top of that the Tumi store by my house refused to refund my money. I have always been a firm believer in you get what you pay for and usually more $$$ means better quality but that is not the case with Saddleback Leather. At least it wasn't when I purchased this wallet in Dark Coffee 1/17/2013 for $33.00 but I see it is now $70 but even at the increased price this wallet is worth it and here is why. Simply, this wallet it bullet proof full grain leather and the marine grade stitching is the real deal. People say you can find other wallets like this for cheaper but you can't. Wallets like this don't exist. I packed this thing with every single card I had in order to stretch it out so that my money would fit easier into the center cash slot. I currently have 20 cards packed into my wallet with cash, it is bulging at every seam and not a single stitch looks like it is under any stress and there is no tearing at any edge, seam, or stitch. The best part about leather is that (imo) it looks better with age. I buy a wallet for it's quality, durability, that looks nice*. I don't buy a wallet to look pretty like a purse all the time so complaints about it "looking ugly" after break in do not effect me. It's in my pocket and it serves one function, to hold some stuff. With that being said, the Dark Coffee finish harder* is the best work I can think of to explain it's texture. It has a sheen to it, almost like a waxed car feel. My friend on the other hand bought a lighter colored one and his leather was much softer with more of a suede/velvet feel, and broke-in/stretched out a lot better than mine did. I wish there was some information like this in the description because the finish/color definitely effects the feel and break in of the wallet. My only complaint is like many others in that the center of the wallet is difficult to get cash in and out of. Even after 4 years of breaking it in and stretching it out I still have trouble getting cash in there and I periodically have to stuff the center with cards so cash slips in and out easier again. I wish they made a front pocket wallet like this one with the open face ID slot, several slots for cards, kept the middle slot, and had a money clip on the other side. Anyway, I love this wallet and I think you will too.
