    3 Year Review and issue with holding money

    I purchased the Carbon Black ID wallet three years back. Since then I've bought several other Saddleback wallets but I always come back to this one. Carbon Black takes a while to age, but once it does, its awesome. One thing I'd like to comment on is the issue some folks have had with holding cash. This actually isn't an issue if some work is done to stretch out the center pocket. Try taking three or four club, casino or old credit cards and stuff them all the way down as far as they can go. Note there is a stitching line about a quarter of an inch from the bottom so it may catch. Get past that line and keep the cards there for at least 3 days. A week is better. After that, you should be able to easily slide 3-5 bills down the center without issue and the money will fit without sticking out at the top. I own an ID wallet in every color and this method has worked on all of them. Give it a shot and your ID wallet will be holding cash (folded only once) without any issue!!

    mine is broken in now, but no signs of wear. stitching solid. leather solid, without fraying, etc. mine does not have the extra stitching on the credit card pockets - not sure that is necessary. after stretching with use, holds plenty - 2 IDs and insurance card in ID window. 5 other assorted credit cards / membership cards. plus 3-6 folded bills. room for a few more cards if needed. would i buy again? absolutely. will i ever have to buy again? i doubt it. if this thing gets damaged enough to need replacement, it will be in my pocket, and i'll be dead anyway.

    Good wallet but has a design flaw

    I am in love with Saddleback's products, they are durable, simple and well designed. For the most part, this wallet is great, fits7 cards that I normally carry and fits well in my pocket. But here is the problem, it's middle insert(where you put cash) won't fit your standard dollar. It's not a problem if you fold the bills twice, once in the middle then fold it again. But that would make the wallet thicker. If you try to insert the bills without folding it twice, about an inch sticks up from the top. It's totally not a big deal, but for a perfectionist, this is really annoying, I am a bit surprised that this isn't fixed because the solution is so easy, just cut the leather an inch wider/higher. But because of this extra inch, it annoys me every time I tried to put cash in and when I see cash sticking out...
