Read MoreThis leather wallet was built with what is called full grain leather. The grain is the most durable part of the hide and it's basically like the shingles of a roof. It ages richly and is very water resistant. But most designers or manufacturers are told to save as much money as possible making their wallets and so need to use every inch of the leather hide. Instead of cutting around the scars and blemishes and throwing 25% of the leather into the trash, the tannery shaves off the top layer with all of the scars and slight imperfections so they can use almost 100% of the hide to make leather wallets. The problem is that they shave off the shingles of your house; the toughest part of the hide. And that's why you're looking for the best leather wallet now. They become junk and fall apart in a short time (5 - 10 years).
---As if our leather wasn't enough, we line our wallets with pigskin, which is tougher than the cow leather. It's how we can offer a 100-year Warranty. And then we sew it with our special German marine grade polyester thread. It's what they sew parachutes and ship sails with. If a life depends on the seams not falling apart, they use the same thread. In between the leather and pigskin is a thin layer of Radio Frequency ID (RFID) blocking material to stop thieves from scanning your wallet in a crowd and stealing your ID off of the credit cards. It happens all the time. Google it.
I purchased this in Chestnut more than eight years ago and have never regretted the decision. Aside from the personality that it has acquired over the years, it is exactly the same as the day I bought it. It's been sat on, dropped, kicked, and thrown and has never once dropped a single bill, receipt or card. I honestly don't know what I would do if I ever lost it. I would be more upset that it was gone than I would be about having to replace the contents inside. I've actually thought about what I would say if I was ever mugged and was told that I had to give up my wallet. I'm not saying that I would take a bullet for this thing but I'm also not saying that I would just throw it at the guy and run to safety, either.

I purchased this wallet for my husband ‘s anniversary gift two months ago and can’t sing it’s praises loud enough! The highest quality in every possible respect! It still has that fresh leather aroma! I doubt we’ll ever need to buy another.

Bought one of these about four years ago and yeah, it’s still functioning flawlessly. For all the men out there who still appreciate a man-sized wallet - don’t even hesitate!

I purchased this wallet about ten years ago already and the darn thing shows NO wear at all ! The credit card slots are still tight where the cards don't fall out when you open the wallet. There are no stress cracks in the bend of the wallet, no stretch marks from sitting on it day after day. I gotta admit, it is a bit larger than the wallet you're probably used to and it took me several weeks before I was comfortable with that feel. I have NOT encountered any pocket in any of the pants or jeans I wear that the wallet wouldn't fit. I am more than satisfied with this purchase and recommend Saddleback products for their durability and style. For my next purchase I have my eye on the "Messenger" backpack. Based on the wear and tear of my current wallet I believe this backpack will last my lifetime - if not more. Money well spent !

Agree with Allan. I'm tough on wallets and this is the longest I've ever had one. Great combination of rugged pristine stitching and beautifully weathered leather. 98 years to go!
