i got my case last week, and immediately slipped my para p-14 limited into it. snug and sweet. It's a wonderfully made, solid protection for my firearms. I will be getting a second for my H&K, and probably a third if my race pistol will fit. First off, the design of the case is just about perfect - the sheepskin lining is just right. the pistol fits in the case sweetly, and i can't stop handling this case. smells wonderful too. I immediately conditioned the case with Chamberlains (blatant plug). You should buy this. Why? you cannot find a better made, more practical, and beautiful case for your firearms. it's superior craftsmanship, and design speak well of SBL - this is a perfect case for my pistols. I'll probably snag a shoulder strap at some point and try it out as a 'shoulder holster/bag' for walking around the range. I have it sitting by my bed, in my jeep, and i hate to put it hidden away in my range bag. i want to *wear* it. excellent design, and of course, SBL quality. this will, indeed, outlast me. This is the case that all other gun cases want to be when they grow up.
I sincerely appreciate fine leather craft, and Saddleback Leather produces some of the finest I've found. The small pistol wrap fits (tightly) my Glock 34, which has a long slide of 8 1/4". All my other handguns are shorter than the 34 and so, will fit. The wrap is well made. The sheepskin lining is high quality, and fixed well. Easily removable for washing. Everything about the construction and materials is heirloom quality. My only wish would be for a longer strap - at least available for purchase. For me, the strap should be long enough to wear around the shoulder/across the body, to hang the holster (wrap) loosely at my side. Well done Saddleback, but an available long strap would make it ideal.
As always, quality construction. Fits a full size (5" barrel) 1911 [.45 Cal Springfield TRP] with the lining but just barely. Was able to also fit two Wilson Combat 47D magazines in the inside pocket and still buckle the straps. If you remove the lining, you lose the back strap and the two D rings as they are integral to the liner. 1911 fits comfortably in the sheath minus the liner though. I'm sure once it is broken in over a couple of years it will make a nice home for my pistol. Also fits: .45 cal XDm with 4.5" barrel easily with the liner but not with an extra magazine in the pocket with or without the liner. Think the back D rings should have been sewn in instead of being integral to the liner. Other than that, awesome old school pistol wrap. Very pleased.
