I bought the pistol wrap as a Dave's Discount. Medium. Black. Flawless workmanship and top shelf design. The medium fits my SR1911 with two magazines as well so it is a larger piece of leatherwork. Good protection when in my briefcase and on the road. Not what one might consider for EDC but perfectly suited for its intended purpose. Happy to have this one.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! It all comes down to philosophy of use. As a licensed CCW permit holder I wanted a way to carry my firearm without necessarily carrying it on my person. (I can't even stand keys in my pocket so there's no way an IWB holster was ever gonna work for me.) Instead I figured I'd carry inside my SB Leather front pocket briefcase. Problem is I use that briefcase for a myriad of things and in diverse situations and wanted to avoid opening my briefcase for a pen only to reveal the butt of a firearm to friends or co-workers. Solution? SB's leather pistol wrap. COMPLETELY concealed and protected from prying eyes. Not a rapid deployment setup but that's not what I needed. Heck, I think I could probably fish this pistol wrap out and set it on the table and no one would be the wiser....though they might ask what the cool looking case is for. Constructed in typical SB quality which means rugged as a rhino and aesthetically perfect!!
I purchased the small pistol wrap on the "dark chocolate brown" sale. I have at least 10 saddleback items in this color and know what to expect. High quality throughout and exceptional craftsmanship. This is basically what I received. My reason for the 3 star rating is this. The leather seems thinner and not as robust as my other items. This I can live with for the sale price. My biggest complaint is the wrap came lined with suede. I hate suede linings and have avoided them after experiencing the smooth pigskin lining in my other products. The description and the pics on the site show smooth pigskin. I contacted customer service and they said "Dave" likes the suede better. OK, but please update your description and pics as it is deceiving to order one thing and get another. I have decided to keep the wrap as the sale price was so good buy I will always feel a little bit cheated when I open the wrap and see the suede.
