Quality Italian Leather Briefcase Blackstone
The Blackstone Barristers Briefcase is one of a kind. I’d been talking myself out of getting a saddleback bag for years. Finally couldn’t resist when this one was released. I picked mine up from their warehouse in Texas and gave me a tour of their warehouse area and the ongoing construction. Cool spot, great gear, hospitable people. The bag itself is unreal. Quality is unmatched. I’ll be using this bad boy for the rest of my life as a civil trial lawyer in Texas. Plenty of room for laptop, books, notepads. They will have my business again for sure!!
This briefcase is exactly what I need. I own about 60 items from SBL and have probably purchased around 300 items, total. Mind you, I owned a business for many years and purchased a lot of gifts during that time. And most of my items are things like coasters, pistol wrap and boxes...but I digress. I gave 4 stars because I think Dave & Co need to be aware of what appears to be a design flaw. When I rest my 'English Tan' Barrister down, it does not sit flat. Now mind you, this may be purposeful and I should shut my mouth and sit down, because it could be that over time it will find its place. When I first received it, although it did its "lean", I did not contemplate sending it back in the least. The briefcase is absolutely delicious. Supple but strong, voluminous but efficient and a scent that's on another level. Every time I receive something from Saddleback I open that plastic bag and inhale deeply like I'm some sort of addict in an alleyway somewhere downtown Los Angeles...and all is well. But this aroma is like the cow lived a life of luxury on some island in the Pacific where naked girls ride them around singing to them. I carry this briefcase with me wherever I go, I love it. I think over time it will straighten out...Heck, I used to be crooked for a long time, but I met a woman that bakes me cookies once in a while. And ya can't beat that. : )
It's an amazing bag. Note that you may need to close it a bit more before unbuckling the first time. Otherwise, you will have to pull really hard on the leather strap to undo the buckle. It is a heavier bag, but it's beautiful and functional. I'll probably use this for the rest of my career as a trial lawyer.
I would like to compare two similar pieces of SBL leather goods. The first is the classic flight bag .The rugged and durable worksmanship is hard to miss and is easily recognizable. The second is the Silverback Series Blackstone Barrister. The depth and richness of the oxblood dye accentuates the refined elegance of the briefcase. My suggestion? Get both.
