    Great Bag but...

Just received my tool bag today. The Saddleback leather quality is great as always but my only complaint would be that I wish the bag was a little taller because I cannot fit everything I would like to inside the bag. The closure as also great but with how far the rivets go down when closed takes at least two inches off both sides of the bag. This makes shoving items in the corners comepletely worthless because when it comes time to close it, you come to find out that you can't.

    Big Mouth Tool Bag

Just received my Big Mouth Tool Bag, one of the first 50 (#44) in Tobacco. I own many Saddleback products, mostly in Dark Coffee Brown. I wanted my tool bag to be 'rugged,' so I chose Tobacco. I also chose it because it's the lightest color, thinking I'd more easily see the tools inside. Other colors may be fine, but the Tobacco is great. I've read negative reviews about the 'new' leather, but I don't agree. My new bag has the same amazing smell my first Card Wallet had years ago. The leather is tough. Does not feel 'waxy' like others have opined. The 'big mouth' opening really does enable you to see everything in the bag. I really like it. I wanted a special bag for some special tools, left to me by my Father-in-Law and Brother, who have recently passed. So the tools are very special and priceless to me, even more so than the new bag. So far, I've filled the bag with an old Pexto claw hammer (was used to build a church in Illinois); small set of Craftsman box wrenches (stamped with my Father in Law's initials); tape measure and torpedo level; several screwdrivers; straight edge; pry bar; needle-nose and regular pliers; crescent wrenches; pocket knife and flashlight; small Snap-On socket set; utility and putty knives; plastic bin holding nails, screws and wall anchors; rags and super glue; notepad and pencil, Gerber utility tool. Will soon add a folding saw, nail set and stud finder. Seldom used tools may be swapped out with others I'm forgetting -- we'll see how it goes. These tools are not really for projects around my home -- I have toolboxes and garage full of tools already -- but rather, this bag is ready to grab next time family or friends need help with something.... A final word about the bag itself: it's not a big bag. The claw hammer is the longest and biggest tool in the bag. It wasn't designed to hold long levels or hand saws. It was meant for small hand tools. It does not have a shoulder strap, nor does it need one. I have no doubt this bag will long outlive me....
