  • Custom Stainless Steel Hardware
  • Industrial Marine-Grade Polyester Thread

Materials in Our Leather Briefcases

Our leather is the strongest we can find (full-grain boot leather, but thicker), and the pigskin lining is stronger than cow leather. If I'm ever president, I will pass legislation that all leather briefcases are made with full grain leather. Our hardware is made of 316 Stainless Steel which is over-the-top strong. The thread is a strong industrial marine-grade polyester thread in which the sun doesn't deteriorate like nylon does when it hits it.

Full Grain Leather Laptop Briefcases

Full Grain Leather is used because it's the toughest leather we can find. It is the strongest leather that money can buy because none of the grain has been shaven off to get rid of blemishes and scars. Instead, we leave all the grain on there and cut around the bad parts of the hide.

Lining Material in Our Leather Briefcases

The lining material we use in our briefcases is also super tough. We line our briefcases with pigskin leather. Pigskin is much stronger than cowhide. It is also smoother, so your laptop will easily slide in and out.

Stitching in Our Leather Briefcases

The stitching of our leather briefcases is done with the strongest thread available, marine grade polyester thread. This type of thread can withstand the elements and will not deteriorate in the sun as nylon thread does. Polyester is horrible as a bed sheet, but it doesn't get any better for an application like this. It is like hot sauce; it's great to dip your chips in, but not so great as an eye drop. That analogy might be a little out there, but I think you'll get it.

A Briefcase that Doubles as a Backpack

It is as simple as unhooking the leather shoulder strap, then pushing it through the O-ring on the top, and then connecting the ends to the bottom D-Rings, and now you have a leather backpack. These backpacks are perfect for times like a long hike, if you are also trying to carry your luggage, or if you just want to give your shoulders a break.

Device Pockets

The large front pocket can fit smaller laptops, tablets, notebooks, files, and other paperwork. Behind that exterior pocket is a hidden pocket with almost just as large a capacity that you can use to carry another device in.

Interior Pockets

Inside, you will find that we placed two small side pockets for pens, pencils, pocket knives, etc. We put one on each end so it would be easier to grab whatever you need without fumbling around.

A Side Pocket for Water Bottles

There is a side pocket to slide your water bottle right into without having to open up the whole bag. This makes it easy to carry and access your water without even taking the briefcase off your shoulder. And it is not just for water bottles; you can also use it to hold your phone, power hub, or whatever accessories you feel fit in there.

A Leather Briefcase with a False Bottom

Below your main interior compartment is a strip of leather that makes a false bottom. This serves to add strength to support your laptop, as well as a hidden area. You can keep extra cash, a passport, ID, a gold coaster, whatever you like can go down there, and if you get robbed, they might take everything out of your briefcase, but they usually will not take the briefcase.

Key Strap

We placed a key strap that falls right into the briefcases, so it will be super easy to grab your keys and go. No more fishing around for your keys at the bottom of your bag.

Very good bag. Lots of space and pockets to organize

Sturdy, heavy duty, just the feel of it tell you it will last. lots of little pockets to store things away. Working well so far. The one thing I do not like is the shoulder strap provided digs into the top flap. Eventually it leaves marks on it. I would like Saddleback leather to fix that issue on the bags else I do not see the flap lasting.

    Masterfully crafted. A conversation starter

This is now my fifth purchase with Saddleback. My first was a a medium tobacco satchel ...I adored the color but outgrew the size so it was sold off. My 2nd was the chestnut large satchel. Man I loved everything about the bag, except the color just was not the amazing tobacco I adored... but still loved this bag. I sadly had to sell this bag when I lost my job due to old army injuries and had to sell all my things to keep food on the table for my wife and kids and move us closer to family. It was the only thing I regretted selling and missed to this day. Third & forth was a bifold wallet for my dad and id wallet for myself both still going to this day 10 yrs later almost. It has taken over 4 yrs to finally be in a place to consider buying another bag... It honestly took me a long time to decide ..not because I didn't like the bag… but my lord the price is high compared the the original prices I paid....which we high even then. but this is now more than double. Once the sticker shock passed my wife reminded me that she had read that the prices changes due to Dave realizing that they were under charging for there bags to begin with a couple yrs back. So after weeks of going back and forth between bags, and annoying the heck out of customer service ..i.e. that "wanna chat button " they all know Alexis Kent, I honestly think I spoke to every Customer Service rep at some point with random questions and such. I apologize if I annoyed you all I am disabled veteran with TBI so my memory is not the best, and I know I can repeat myself a lot . Dave if you read this they were all amazingly patient and so kind and helpful. As I was saying after all the researching, and my wife finally asking important questions to help me pick the bag I always wanted. I finally committed and purchased this amazing slim briefcase…which is basically a large satchel briefcase pro edition in my opinion. The extra space, and suede lining is so much nicer than the original pig skin lining. my MacBook Air fits right in the front pocket with no issues. and does great job protecting the laptop. I learned this by accident..( I do not recommend anyone do this ). I use my bag in back pack mode and put in on the back on my office chair .. this was safe and normal I thought as it didn't move until I got up from my chair and the weight of the bag pull the chair down and chair and bag crashed the ground. I was for sure that my MacBook was ruined as it was in the exterior pocket with the flap over its and buckle and was first side to hit floor with the weight of a chair on it.I quickly inspected the bag and gingerly opened the front flap to see an unscathed laptop still in pristine condition. Man I know I may have been lucky but I think the build quality of this bag showed its worth at that moment. I now use it as my daily carry all my nicknacks and gadgets. I fit in it a large 23000maH battery pack, a large sketchbook, a paper back book , pencil case, my kindle. a switch lite, a micro fiber cleaning cloth, one plus 7 pro phone, a beard brush, plug & cable for laptop, MacBook Air 13 2018 model, small pocket knife, case for my glasses, keys, my slim ID card wallet by saddleback in tobacco and bungee cord my cane or an umbrella under neath the bag on raining days. On regular days I rig a bike lock to the bottom of the back and bike to work. I honestly love everything about the bag, it is on the heavier side for most, but in backpack mode it is fine, as I am only 5’4 and about 150lbs, (working out helps as well) I would have honestly gave this 5 stars easily if the price was a tad easier to swallow, also all of my previous purchases came with a leather key fob attached to the bags key chain. And business cards, and even small prayer ..I loved these little perks added, and honestly was really disappointed to see none of that came with the bag this time even after the price jump. I can see why the prayer may have not been added anymore for respect for others religions, but the keyfob and cards or pieces of leather with logo..or something would have been great to see still. As I am always stopped and asked about my bag but having nothing to had out ( seriously, I walked into my brothers house and had the bag still on my back and my brother was behind me feeling it before I could take it off …haha). In conclusion this is still the best bag I have ever used, and will always support this company always. I am beyond thankful for my wife gifting this to me as an early valentines gift, and have been banned from selling my things for them again. This is the dream bag that will stay with us forever , that my wife will get when I pass and she will pass onto our sons when she eventually passes on. We both hope and pray that is ways away. Sorry if this was a bit long. Best, Mr. Alexis Kent

    A fantastic commuter bag!

I have and LOVE the Front Pocket Leather Briefcase but travelling in the crowded NYC subway every day, was just a little too big for me (but damn, did I get compliments on it). My solution? Use that bag for travel and get the Slim Leather briefcase for my EDC. WOW! Works great and btw, same amount of compliments!
