I’m a physician in NYC, always on the move, and absolutely need a top-notch, durable briefcase. Those “designer” bags just don’t cut it. The craftsmanship of this bag is the best I’ve ever seen. Durable, reinforced, tough on the outside, while soft and supple, roomy on the inside for my equipment. Rugged and clean styling - very happy to have found Saddleback Leather - strongly recommend. I got mine in Black - beautiful bag.
Just got this bag a few weeks ago and they're already fighting over it. ;-) Seriously though, it is easy to see how true this slogan is. A bit pricey to be sure, but this will absolutely be the last briefcase I ever need or want to buy. I got this off of Dave's Deals as a second. Looked all over for the "flaw" but never found one. I've had a similar looking bag for about 15 years, actually 2 of them as the zipper on the first one I got at Costco broke after about 12 years and the faux buckles fell off. The second one is only a year old, but now will be a hand me down. I love the rugged, super high quality construction of the Saddleback bag, the simple elegance, and NO zippers or fake buckles - just the real deal, well thought out design, beautiful finish (already being wonderfully broken in) and one simple burly buckle. Did I mention the wonderful new leather smell?? I do miss the handy little built in pen and card holders in the old bag, but it is a trivial sacrifice, and I now just keep these things in a small folio. I could go on and on, but very well done Dave and the Saddleback team! Thank you for putting a product like this on the market. After I bought this, my wife expressed interest in your backpacks so Santa got one for her for Christmas! We are now a 2 bag family! :-) I also travel extensively around the country for work, and I am sure my co-workers, customers, and complete strangers will be asking where I got this bag. In fact, a couple months ago, I bumped into a guy in the airport elevator that had a Saddleback bag. I asked him where he got it, and if I could take a picture of it (attached). He said "after 12 years it was just getting broken in." I was sold right then and there. *** Note that the scuff marks on the bag in the picture are ALL from ME handling it and NOT to be associated with it being a factory second. When I unwrapped it on day one, it was absolutely unmarked and pristine from the factory.
My husband absolutely loves this new bag— I surprised him with it— so took a bit of a risk— but it paid off. The company was amazing to work with as I had to rush the order. Thanks to everyone who assisted me and for a happy birthday!
I've been a huge fan of SBL for quite some time so I knew what to expect with this bag. And it STILL blew me away! This easily fits a laptop, iPad, journal and a bunch of art tools. It fits everything I need for the day and leaves me a bit of room in case I need it for later. I find myself using the bag in backpack mode more than satchel but I can switch back and forth in about 30 seconds. I get lots of compliments, looks of admiration, and a few jealous sneers because of this bag. It's well worth the money and this is definitely something you'll want to pass on to a lucky loved one. But hopefully not for a very long time because I want to enjoy it for many years before passing it over to someone else. Thanks for making another great product! I'll be a customer for life!
After much deliberation I purchased the Slim Briefcase in DCB. I was worried that the classic may be a bit large for hauling around to my day-to-day meetings. I love the color and the bag has worked out perfectly. I would say that the size is great for an EDC, unless you like to carry A LOT of extra stuff with you. It has plenty of room to fit my 13" MacBook Pro in either the front pocket or the pocket inside. I typically carry a 1.5" binder, the SBL medium portfolio (which is awesome by the way!), a couple of extra notebooks, the beartrap pen case, and a handful of other odds and ends, and there's still plenty of room to add my additional Surface, charger, etc. when I need them. The construction is excellent, the leather is beautiful and wears very well, and the overall size and functionality works perfectly for me. I also love the addition of the key strap/carrier inside. I feel like the size and style of the bag work very well for business meetings, while still maintaining the more rugged SBL look. It's also a nice size that encourages you to carry it, instead of leaving it behind in the office. I am very pleased with this bag and will undoubtedly continue to add more SBL to the home and office.
