Product Overview

Leather business card holder that has been used and now has a nice patina. Some use it as a minimalist wallet

Leather Business Card Holder Design
I know it’s just a little insignificant leather business card wallet, but there’s no reason to not at least try to make it into the greatest and longest lasting leather business card holder in the world. This was our intention and here's how we did it.

It was designed simply to attract the eyes of whoever watches you use it. The leather is full grain so it ages with a beautiful patina. Top Grain, Split or Genuine leather do not age so gracefully. This leather business card holder is meant to help you close deals. It is purposefully simple and minimal so it gets compliments and starts a conversation, whether it's used as a minimalists wallet or just to carry presentation cards.

It is so slim that it adds no bulk in suit pants when it just has 15 business cards in it. Of course, it can hold up to 6 or 7 credit cards on each side once it's been stretched out for a few days. To start, stick as many credit cards as you can in there and leave it for a couple of days. Then open stuff another one in each side and leave it. And on and on. But even in a shirt pocket, when used as a business card holder, it's barely noticeable.

Leather
The leather is what separates the men from the boys. It's the difference between a business card holder that lasts for a couple of years and one that lasts for a couple of generations. Let me explain.

When a cow is skinned, they send the thick hide to the tannery and they have to split it top from bottom to make it more usable. The expensive top half of the hide is the toughest part since it is so dense with the tightly grown together fibers called Grain. That grain is to a leather hide what shingles are to a roof.

If the two halves were exactly the same thickness, the top half with the FULL amount of GRAIN would be significantly thicker than the bottom half. The junky low priced bottom half is called Split Leather or Genuine Leather and if your leather business card holder is made with it, then it will dry out and fall apart quickly because it doesn't have the strong grain to keep in the moisture or hold it together. And our leather is a little thicker than the leather used to make most work boots. We also use this leather to make our Leather Wallets.

Lining
And even though it's just an insignificant little accessory that you carry everyday, we lined it with pigskin, which is equal to or a little tougher than the cowskin. And that makes it twice as strong as any full grain leather business card holder lined with some pretty and shiny nylon fabric.

Thread
And I know it's just a leather business card holder, but we sewed it together with a super strong German industrial polyester thread instead of a cheaper cotton or nylon thread. It may be tougher than the leather. Since these are so popular and we sell so many of them, we could save a good amount of money by using a lesser thread and you probably wouldn't notice for a year or two, but if you're going to do something worth doing, do it right.

Stitching
Okay, I'm sure you're rolling your eyes by now, but please just read this last part. It's a very small detail that makes a whole lot of difference. We stitch our leather on this business card holder with 7 stitches in each inch instead of 9. This is important because each hole that the needle makes is actually the start of a tear. So, the further you can keep the holes apart, the less likely it is that your leather business card holder will tear like a piece of perforated paper if you should really stuff it full.

I have owned this wallet for 9 years and I'm sure it will last me decades more.

I don't tend to write reviews, but for this I make an exception. This wallet is simply amazing. It's one of the best things I own, for two reasons:

    1) It is small and efficient. It holds 8 cards for me. That is just enough for all essential passes, but it is barely larger than a stack of 8 cards without a wallet. On top of that, the way the leather is shaped by having it in my pocket after years of use makes it nicely rounded on the outside. This makes it even MORE compact.

    2) It is incredibly strong and sturdy. I have used it daily for almost a decade (bought early 2012). I have abused this wallet by getting it wet countless times, including in sea water. It has been scratched heavily countless times. But the only thing that happened is that it has become a bit more supple and more beautiful, with a nice matte sheen on it. It is still incredibly sturdy. I can't imagine it will ever fail me.

    It really is THAT incredible.

    It is great. I use

It is great. I use it as a wallet. The only improvement would be if it could hold a couple more cards. Keep up the good work. Thanks

    Bought this for my husband.

Bought this for my husband. He LOVES it. It is the perfect size, and he says even after a few months of owning it that he still takes it out to smell it at work. :joy: I highly recommend this product if you want something high quality that will last!

I've had this for FIVE [5] years...

    OUTSTANDING!
I use it to carry all my concealed carry credentials. Its aged very well! Every once and a while a get a small clean scrap of t-shirt and work some mink oil into it and buff it off to keep it in good shape. I would recommend and buy again, but at the rate its wearing that might not happen for some time. :)
